Class of 2003

It was an absolute joy and privilege to coach Lynsey on the Comstock High School girls softball team! In her freshman year, Lynsey was a young girl loaded with raw talent, an ingrained toughness (no doubt from her very athletic parents) and an incredible desire to be the best!  From day one, Lynsey was always asking me what she could do to get better! She worked tirelessly on her skills, particularly hitting and catching and was an absolute WORKHORSE! She was so driven and ambitious, her hunger and desire to compete and improve was infectious. Her work ethic was second to none and even as a freshman, her presence made everyone on the team work harder!  Lynsey had “THAT IT” factor, that intensity and FIRE AND DESIRE...that thing that special athletes have, that everyone wants to be around!  She had the ability to lift the team up and yet push them. That positive, fun vibe and energy is contagious and is something every coach wants and needs. Lynsey was, and STILL IS TODAY,...A LEADER, WHO LEADS BY EXAMPLE! Her integrity was admirable…She always did the right thing!  It was wonderful seeing the improvements in her confidence, leadership and game throughout her high school career and was no surprise that she led her 2003 Comstock High School softball team to a best ever State Runner Up finish!  Lynsey was also a model student exemplifying the utmost discipline and integrity. Her honesty, willingness to help others, outstanding character were evident on a constant basis. Her example of leadership, on and off the field, not only earned my respect but that of her teammates, classmates, opponents and opposing coaches.  Lynsey’s fun loving spirit, her intense, competitive nature set her apart from the rest and have helped her achieve many personal goals as an intercollegiate athlete.  Lynsey continues to live a healthy, active lifestyle and inspires others to greatness as she continues to lead in her professional career at Kalamazoo College!  In my opinion, Lynsey is one of the finest student-athletes I have coached in 30 years here at CHS and I couldn’t be prouder of what she has accomplished and how she continues to give back. Congrats Lynsey and congrats on your 2018 Comstock High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction!  - Tracy Daniel
