Comstock Names New Superintendent The Comstock Public Schools Board of Education has hired Dr. Jeffrey Thoenes to become their new superintendent, contingent upon contract negotiations.

Dr. Thoenes currently serves as the High School Principal at Williamston Community Schools. He has been in this position for eight years. Additional administrative experience includes: Mt. Pleasant High School Principal for five years; Bridgeport Spaulding Middle School Assistant Principal for three years; and Bowling Green City Schools Junior High Principal for four years. Dr. Thoenes also has classroom experience, and has served in the Peace Corps.

Dr. Brandy Brown, Board President, indicated his strengths in the areas of instruction, communication, the ability to build a cohesive team, along with his background in school improvement were some of the reasons for his selection.

Dr. Thoenes looks forward to his move into the school district, and to begin working to help improve the education for all students. Dr. Thoenes is expected to begin on July 1.
