No More Activity Fee

Run Free, Colts!Starting with the 2018-19 school year, Comstock will no longer charge an activity fee for high school or middle school sponsored sports. Comstock Public Schools has charged an activity fee for HS and MS school sponsored sports for at least the last 11 years, but Comstock's new Superintendent, Dr. Jeffery J. Thoenes, made the decision to take away that hardship from the Comstock community.

Comstock has always recognized that participation in sports is a great benefit for students. The average GPA is higher for student-athletes vs non-athletes, and attendance in school is also better for student-athletes. Spirit, communication, hustle, attitude, precision and enhancement are skills in sports that kids have to work to acquire and all of those attributes will help them later on in life.

Comstock's Athletic Director, Justin Ansel, says, "My hope for the 18-19 school year is that knocking down this barrier in HS and MS sports will increase our participation numbers in all sports. We want your kids involved. Let's get them all participating in sports!"

Please be aware that there are community programs that are not school sponsored, and still need to charge activity fees to be able to run. Comstock Youth Football, MS Soccer, Eastwood Little League, AYSO Soccer, and Stampede Basketball are some of the programs that still have a fee for the upcoming year.

If your son or daughter is interested in participating, and you need help financially, please call Justin Ansel at 269-250-8711, or email [email protected] for more information on available scholarships.
