2018 Boys Varsity Golf

5-22 - Centreville Meet

On a perfect night the Colts traveled down to Island Hills Golf Course to compete in the Centerville Quad. As a team the boys shot a 235 on a difficult course. The low score for the Colts was a 52 shot by Logan Hicks. Carter Wintz shot a 59 and following closely was Hunter DeLeon shooting a 61. Jeffrey Koss also pitched in a 63 despite a nagging thumb injury. Matt Searles shot a 72. The Colts have their regional event to close out the season next Wednesday at Old Mill.

5-16 - BCS Conference Meet

Closing out the conference season on Thursday the boys golf team made the trip down to Hampshire Country Club for the BCS Conference Tournament. The boys had an outstanding day improving greatly from last year! The Colts shot a 410 for the 18-hole tournament. The low score for the tournament was a 78 shot by Comstock’s own, Logan Hicks. Improving from last year was Jeffery Koss with a 105 and Hunter DeLeon with a 110. In their first-year golfing Carter Wintz and Matt Searles put up respectable scores with 117 and 126. The boys finished 7th in the tournament and 4th for their division.

4-15 BCS Brandywine & Buchanan Jamboree

On Wednesday the colts had a double header for their last two conference jamborees. The first stop was Plym Park for the Brandywine hosted jamboree. The colts shot a 235, with scores of 53 from Logan Hicks, 57 by Carter Wintz, 62 from Matt Searles, 63 by Jeffrey Koss, and a 67 from Hunter DeLeon. The colts then headed to Orchard Hills for the Buchanan hosted jamboree. On a more difficult course the boys improved their score by 12 strokes for a 223. Leading the way was Logan hicks with a 52, Jeffrey Koss with a 53. Followed closely by Hunter DeLeon and Carter Wintz who both shot 59. Matt Searles also improved and shot 63.

4-24 - BCS Berrien Springs Jamboree

On a pleasant night for golf the Comstock boys traveled to Indian Lake Hills Golf Course to play in their third conference jamboree of the season. Improving by 22 strokes since their last jamboree the colts shot a 213 which was good for fourth place. Leading the team was Logan Hicks with a personal best 46. Also shooting their personal best to throw in for scoring was Matt Searles (53), Jeffery Koss (56), and Carter Wintz (58). Not far behind was Hunter DeLeon with a 59 and Doug Dodson who also shot his personal best round of 64. The colts take on their first 18 hole tournament at Eastern Hills this Friday for their next event.

4-16 - BCS Comstock Jamboree

On a beautiful night for golf the Colts hosted their home jamboree. Finishing one place better than last week the boys shot 235 which is a 10-stroke improvement from the last conference jamboree. The leading scorer was Logan Hicks who shot another 54. Closely behind him was Matt Searles and Hunter DeLeon, they shot 58 and 59 respectively. Jeffery Koss followed with a 64 and right behind was Doug Dodson shooting his personal best 67. Carter Wintz showed tremendous improvement shooting a 71. The Colts have there first 18-hole tournament on Friday at Hickory Ridge. 

4-10 - Delton-Kellogg Meet

On a very cold evening the boys golf team went head to head against Delton. The colts shot their season best 231. Leading the colts was Logan Hicks who fired his personal best shooting a 54. Just a couple shots behind was Matt Searles with his personal best 57. Both shooting 60 was Jeffery Koss and Hunter DeLeon. Tossing in a 68 was Carter Wintz. The Colt’s next match is our home event next Tuesday at Eastern Hills starting at 4.

4-9 - BCS Parchment Jamboree

Comstock golf started their conference season tonight at Eastern Hills for Parchment’s jamboree. The boys played well for a windy night improving their opening tournament by 5 strokes shooting a 245. Leading the pack was Logan Hicks with a 57 followed closely by Hunter DeLeon and Jeffery Koss, both shooting 59. In their first ever conference match throwing in a 70, 72, and 73 was Matt Searles, Carter Wintz, and Doug Dodson. Tomorrow the Colts travel to Mullenhurst for a match against Delton.

3-26 - Comstock Loss vs Paw Paw

The Colts boys golf team teed off the season last night with a match against Paw Paw at Lake Cora Hills Golf Course. Leading the way for the colts was Hunter DeLeon and Logan Hicks both shooting 57, not far behind was Carter Wintz with a 66, and throwing in a 70 was Matt Searles and Doug Dodson. The Colts next match will be April 9th at Eastern Hills Golf Course for the Parchment Jamboree.
