Varsity Comstock men's basketball team fought hard for four quarters, coming up just short on a last second shot by first place Paw Paw 55-53 Friday night.  The team had three players in double figures:  Chad Paddock with 17 points hitting five three-point shots, Austin Lansky and Brian Barnes both with 12 points.  Shane Easter also chipped in 8.  The team was led in rebounding by Chad Paddock with 11, and Malik Hall also had 6.  Their next game will be home against Berrien Springs this Tuesday.

1-23 - Comstock 55 - Vicksburg 45

Comstock shocks Vicksburg at home Thursday night 55-45.  Winning 3 of the 4 quarters, Comstock attacked for all four quarters.  Brian Barnes led Comstock with 16 points, Tra'Von Blakely had 12, Brandon Haller had 11 (3-three point makes), and Chad Paddock had 10.  Malik Hall and Shane Easter both had 9 rebounds, and Austin Lansky played stifling defense.

1-21 - Comstock 45 - Edwardsburg 58

Comstock jumped out to an early first quarter lead 18-13 against a very tough Edwardsburg team.  Edwardsburg then had a big second quarter to gain  a 10 point lead at halftime.  Comstock continued to battle, but fell short 58-45.  Comstock had very balanced scoring with Chad Paddock scoring 10 points, Shane Easter with 9, Brian Barnes and Malik Hall adding 7 points, and Tra'Von Blakely chipping in 6.  Comstock also shot well from the free throw line hitting 11 of 15 free throws.

1-17 - Comstock 20 - Plainwell 60

1-14 - Comstock 51 vs Dowagiac 89

Dowagiac came up and hit 7 three-pointers in the first quarter against Comstock to take a 33-8 lead after the first quarter.  The Colts fought back the next two only losing by one in the second and third quarters combined (36-35).  Dowagiac shot the ball very well, making 12 three pointers on the night.  Comstock was led in scoring and rebound by Chad Paddock (22 points/12 rebounds), Austin Lansky added 7 points, and Brian Barnes chipped in 6.

1-10 - Comstock 41 - Allegan 51

Comstock lost a close one to Allegan Friday night.  Leading at halftime 30-27, the Colts fell behind, and eventually lost 51-41 to the visiting Allegan Tigers.  Chad Paddock scored a team high 12 points, Shane Easter scored 10, and Brian Barnes added 6 points as well.

12-28 - Comstock 44 - Gobles 47

Comstock lost in the championship game Saturday night by 3 points.  They came back to get a 1 point lead with just under a minute left, only to have Gobles answer back with 2 free throws to re-gain the lead late.  Chad Paddock scored 14 points, and Brian Barnes added 13.  Brian Barnes and Chad Paddock were named to the "All-Tournament Team".

12-27 - Comstock 50 - Niles Brandywine 47

Comstock earned their first win in the White Pigeon Holiday Tournament.  Austin Lansky hit two key free throws down the stretch to secure the win.  Brandon Haller broke the school record hitting 6 three pointers (18 total points) out of 7 attempts.  Chad Paddock scored 13, and Brian Barnes recorded a double/double scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds.

12-20 - Comstock 42 - Paw Paw 73

Comstock ran into a hot shooting Paw Paw team. Tra'Von Blakely led all Comstock scorers with 9 points, Malik Hall added 7, and Chad Paddock/Brian Barnes both had 6. 

12-17 - Comstock 44 - Three Rivers 48

Comstock varsity boys basketball team lost to Three Rivers 48-44 last night.  Comstock battled back from a 48-27 deficit shutting out the Three Rivers in the 4th quarter going on a 17-0 run.  Brian Barnes led the Colts in scoring with 11 points, Tra'Von Blakely had 8, and Brandon Haller added 7. 

12-13 - Comstock 45 - Otsego 85

Comstock lost to Otsego last Friday.  Battled hard in the second half.  Chad Paddock scored 18 points hitting four three-pointers, Tra'Von Blakely added 9 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.  Shane Easter also had 5 rebounds in the loss. 

12-10 - Comstock 30 - Parchment 48

Comstock Men's varsity team lost to Parchment Tuesday night 48-30.  Started off slow offensively, but began putting things together in the second half by attacking the hoop and rebounding against a much taller Parchment team.  Shane Easter led Comstock in scoring with 13, Chad Paddock and Tra'Von Blakely added 5 points each.  Comstock will be playing at Otsego Friday night.
