PUBLIC NOTIFICATION OF BOARD VACANCY The Comstock Board of Education received notification of a trustee vacancy effective August 12, 2010. State law requires that the board appoint a person to fill the vacancy within thirty (30) calendar days. The person appointed will fill the vacancy from September 10, 2010 to December 31, 2010. ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to become a school board trustee, a candidate must be at least eighteen (18) years of age; a citizen of the United States; a resident of the State of Michigan for at least thirty (30) days; and a resident of the school district. Property ownership is not a requirement of candidacy. APPLICATION: If you meet the above eligibility requirements and wish to be considered for the vacancy, please submit a letter stating why you would like to be considered and your qualifications. Include your complete address, telephone number and email address. You should submit your letter by August 23, 2010, 4:00 p.m., to President Rick Taylor, Comstock Public Schools, 3010 Gull Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49048. PROCESS: After submitting the letter of interest, candidates will receive a questionnaire to complete. In addition, the Board of Education will be scheduling interviews with all interested individuals on September 1, 2010, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the Comstock Educational Service Center, 3010 Gull Road.
