Originally from southern Michigan, my high school years at Jackson Northwest were spent playing varsity basketball, as well as being heavily involved in the band program. After graduating, I spent my first two years of college at the University of Michigan. I had amazing experiences with the Michigan Marching Band, including playing at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. I then transferred to Central Michigan University where I earned my Bachelor degree in Music Education in four years. A highlight of my time at CMU was a trip to China to perform with the choirs at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
I began my teaching career in 2011, and I spent my first 10 years in NW Wisconsin. One of the top experiences of my time in St. Croix Falls was co-presenting a session at the 2020 Wisconsin State Music Convention (virtual) which was subtitled Infusing Mental Health Strategies into the Performing Ensembles.
Outside of school, my wife, Marisa (a choral educator), and I enjoy time with our spirited and active daughters - Spencer and Ellison. Personally, I continue to play basketball and golf in my free time
