Ms. MacIntyre earned her Masters in Counseling at Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling in Portland, Oregon in 2011. She has served students at all grade levels as a school counselor in public and private schools in Portland, Oregon; Monterrey, Mexico; and Albuquerque, New Mexico before returning to her home state of Michigan to join the team at Comstock STEM Academy in 2021. She’s also taught Sexuality & Gender at the high school level, supported GSA clubs as a faculty sponsor, and led student trips to NYC, Canada, California, and New Mexico. Ms. MacIntyre has also completed specialized training in suicide prevention and substance abuse prevention/intervention in youth.

In addition to her counseling work, Ms. MacIntyre is a visual artist & writer and earned her BFA in Sculpture at Western Michigan University in 1992. Since then, she’s travelled the world, been an art teacher in Holland, MI and an administrator at Ox-Bow Summer School of Art & Artists’ Residency in Saugatuck, MI.

For many years before becoming a school counselor, Ms. MacIntyre was a working artist and she enjoys tinkering with collage, metalsmithing, and drawing. Tools and materials get her really excited! She is glad to be back in Michigan with all the beautiful lakes and woodlands, and close to her family. She shares her life with an amazing rescue dog named Bingo and loves to walk in nature, forage for wild foods like mushrooms, make art, garden, and read in her spare time.

Her mission is to support the wellbeing of all students at STEM with compassion, courage, clarity, and creativity.
