Walt Pickett
Class of 1966
It is always exciting when a student/athlete is honored for their accomplishments in either a sport or academic recognition. This is Walt Pickett. He was a four year Varsity baseball player, a four year wrestler and an All-City first team Kalamazoo Gazette All-City selection. Walt was a pioneer in the first CHS wrestling program and upon graduation he took his abilities to Adrian. Adrian provided Walt with the opportunity to extend himself both athletically and academically. He earned Hall of Fame status in wrestling for his success. His Wrestling team was recognized for winning three MIAA championships. Academically, Walt moved on from Adrian, to WMU and Harvard. He spent his professional life leading throughout the world in blood research and disease research. I could not be more proud of a former teammate, a friend, and someone who has done those things that only a few can do. Congratulations to the entire Pickett family.
