2-26 - MHSAA District Semi - Comstock 60 - Galesburg-Augusta 73

The Colts' season came to an end in the district semifinal, falling to Galesburg 73-60.  Comstock came out on fire, jumping to a 13-2 lead, but Galesburg responded, closing the first quarter down just 18-17. The second quarter proved difficult offensively for the Colts, scoring only four points. After halftime, the team fought back, cutting the deficit to just four heading into the fourth quarter. However, costly mistakes down the stretch allowed Galesburg to pull away. Despite the tough loss, it was a great season, and with many players returning, the future looks bright for the Colts!

2-24 - MHSAA District Quarter - Comstock 60 - Lawton 54 OT

In an exciting first district game at Hackett High School, the Colts were up against the Blue Devils of Lawton. Both teams battled fiercely throughout the night, trading baskets, making key defensive stops, and fighting for rebounds. At halftime, the Colts trailed by six but stayed resilient. With the game tied 50-50 and just four seconds left, the Colts had a chance to win in regulation, but the shot didn’t fall, sending the game into overtime. In overtime, Comstock took control on both ends of the court, sealing an impressive 60-53 Overtime victory to advance to Wednesday against Galesburg!

2-20 - Comstock 72 - Decatur 48

On Senior Night, the Colts closed out the regular season with an impressive home victory against Decatur. Despite a slow start, the team came alive in the second half, dominating both ends of the floor and taking control of the game. Senior Cayden Schultz led the way with a dominant 25-point performance, helping secure a memorable win to cap off the season.

2-18 - Comstock 34 - Marcellus 61

The Colts fell to Marcellus 61-34 in a tough matchup. Marcellus' dominance on the offensive boards proved to be a major challenge. A slow start put the team in an early deficit, and despite their efforts, the gap was too much to overcome as the Colts slipped into some bad habits. Looking past this game, there is one final regular season left!

2-17 - Comstock 72 - St Joseph Michigan Lutheran 64

In a hard-fought battle from start to finish,The Colts secured a 72-64 victory over Michigan Lutheran at home. The game was extremely competitive throughout, with both teams taking the lead back and forth but clutch plays down the stretch helped seal the win. JayVeonn Buchanan led the Colts with a dominant 35-point performance

2-13 - Comstock 35 - Centreville 62

The Colts struggled to find their groove in a tough 62-35 home loss to Centreville. From the start, Centreville’s defensive pressure caused problems, making it difficult to get into an offensive flow. On the boards, we didn't match Centreville’s physicality, leading to too many second-chance points. Overall, it was a night where nothing seemed to click, and the team played out of sorts. The focus shifts to regrouping and bouncing back quickly for the next game.

2-11 - Comstock 70 - Bangor 41

The Colts showcased a commanding performance in a 70-41 home victory over Bangor, controlling the game from start to finish. Eight different players contributed on the scoresheet tonight. From start to finish the Colts set the tone with high energy and smart play, building an early lead and never looking back. Two in a row and this is the momentum needed this late in the season.

2-10 - Comstock 57 - Bloomingdale 46

The second matchup against Bloomingdale went in the Colts' favor, as they secured a 57-46 victory at home. Learning from their mistakes in the first game, the team came prepared and executed on both ends of the floor. It was a true team effort, as everyone played with confidence. The first win of a three game week!

2-7 - Comstock 53 - Cassopolis 64

The Colts put up a strong fight but fell short against Cassopolis, losing 64-53. Hayden Ampey led the way with 12 points, keeping us in the game with key plays. Despite our effort and intensity, we struggled to contain Cassopolis’ shooters, who made the difference down the stretch. More work to be done before districts in 2 weeks!

2-5 - Comstock 40 - Maple Valley 46

In a tightly contested game at Maple Valley, the Colts came up short, losing 46-40. It was a close matchup throughout, with both teams battling back and forth. However, a few key mistakes in the fourth quarter gave Maple Valley the edge, and we couldn’t recover. Despite the loss, improvements were noticed and we look to take those and improve upon them in the following weeks.

2-4 - Comstock 61 - White Pigeon 66

In a tough game at White Pigeon, we lost 66-61. They capitalized on numerous offensive rebounds. In the fourth, we fought back and got within two points, but a costly turnover followed by a transition three-pointer allowed them to seal the win. We showed a lot of fight when we had our backs to the wall. Cayden Schultz led with 17 pts.

1-31 -  Comstock 50 - Bloomingdale 54

In our game at Bloomingdale, costly turnovers made the difference in a close loss.  Bloomingdale stuck to their game plan and executed it well, which ultimately led to their win. We need to find ways to close out tight games and learn from this experience moving forward. JayVeonn Buchanan led with 12 pts

1-28 - Comstock 65 - Lawrence 40

The Colts were in a tightly contested matchup at Lawrence, with both teams trading baskets throughout the first half. The game stayed very close until the 4th quarter when the Colts caught fire from beyond the arc, knocking down three consecutive three-pointers to take control of the game. They never looked back in the 4th coming out with a 25 point win.

1-27 - Comstock 51 - Marcellus 57

The Colts battled hard at home but came up short in a 57-51 loss to Marcellus.
Marcellus applied relentless pressure throughout the game and remained strong on offense. Despite a good effort, the Colts struggled to win the rebounding battle and were unable to take the lead at any point. The team fought until the end but ultimately fell just short in a tough matchup.

1-24 - Comstock 41 - Hartford 45

In a hard-fought defensive battle, the Colts came up just short against Hartford, falling 45-41 on the road. The game was a grind from start to finish, with both teams flying around defensively making scoring difficult. The Colts never managed to get a lead and trailed the whole way through. Cayden Schultz led the Colts with 12

1-17 - Comstock 69 - Decatur 44

In our game at Decatur, we came out strong from the start, dominating the entire game.  Eight different Colts contributed to the scoreboard. It was a great all-around effort, with everyone playing their part to secure the win. A solid team victory.

1-9 - Comstock 49 - Centreville 72

The Colts struggled to contain Centerville’s high-paced offense, falling 72-49 on the road. From the start, Centerville ran the floor, forcing the Colts into difficult defensive situations. Much to improve on before our next meeting with Centreville!  

1-7 - Comstock 72 - Bangor 60

In our game at Bangor, we came out strong, scoring 20 points in the first quarter.  Bangor fought back and tied the game in the third, but we stayed disciplined in the fourth quarter and pulled ahead to secure a 72-60 victory. Our team stuck to the game plan and executed when it mattered, holding off Bangor’s run and finishing strong for the win.

12-19 - Comstock 60 - Cassopolis 53

In a thrilling overtime battle at home, we took down Cassopolis 60-53. After falling behind late in the fourth, we came up clutch, knocking down two huge threes to force overtime. Once in OT, we took control, dominating both ends of the floor to secure the seven-point win. It was a hard-fought team effort, and we showed resilience when it mattered most.  Cayden Schultz led with 26 pts!

12-17 - Comstock 46 - White Pigeon 69

Against White Pigeon, we struggled to match their size and speed, falling 69-46. Their physical presence dominated inside, and their transition game put us on our heels all night. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t slow them down or generate enough offense to close the gap. Hayden Ampey led the team with 15 pts.

12-10 - Comstock 65 - Lawrence 34

Against Lawrence, we put together a dominant performance, winning 65-34. 11 of our guys contributed points as we controlled the game from start to finish. Our offense was balanced, and our defense shut down their opportunities. It was a complete team effort, and we’ll look to carry this momentum forward.

12-6 - Comstock 44 - Hartford 74

Against Hartford, we struggled to keep up with their pace and fell 74-44. They
capitalized on too many fast-break opportunities, and we got sped up. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t slow the game down to our advantage. We’ll learn from this and work to improve for the next matchup against Hartford. Cayden Schultz led the team with 15 pts.

12-2 - Comstock 38 - Allegan - 54

Against Allegan, we started strong but couldn’t keep up in the second half, falling 54-38.  They shot the ball well throughout the game, while our offense struggled after halftime.  We have to continue to work hard as there is a long season ahead. JayVeonn Buchanan led with 10 pts.

11-26 - Comstock 41 - Galesburg-Augusta - 69

In our season opener at Galesburg, we struggled to find our rhythm and fell 69-41.  First-game jitters got to the Colts and we struggled on the boards, allowing Galesburg too many second-chance opportunities. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t gain momentum, but this game gives us a chance to learn and improve moving forward.  JayVeonn Buchanan led the team with 18 pts.
