Coach Melissa Capman
10-13 - Comstock 2 - Covert 0
So proud of this TEAM! They ended out the season with not only a win but a shutout!
Outstanding performance by all who played tonight. We did it with only one sub on the bench and a ton of teamwork and communication!
Thank you to the 8th graders for their leadership this season. We will miss you!!!
Carter Morrison, Elon Cloud, Donavon Barber, Jacob Hutchens and Lukas Rooney!
10-10 - Comstock 3 - Marcellus 6
This was a great game played by both teams. The score at halftime was 3-4. Our team was not quite ready for the level of physicality Marcellus brought in the second half and were thrown off their game a bit. Definitely an opportunity for us to learn from. Non scale victory, first game without a preventable turnover ie incorrect throw in, offside or intentional hand ball.
Carter Morriston had 2 goals, Isaiah Smith 1 goal, Lukas Rooney played a strong midfield for the Colts and Elon Cloud had a game full of fantastic saves.
10-6 - Comstock 1 - Bloomingdale 6
The boys played with a lot of heart for 60 minutes. There was lots of great passing and teamwork has gotten better and better every week. Carter Morrison had 5 shots on goal and 1 made it in, Isaiah Smith made a couple good runs down the left side line and had a couple shots on goal as well.
Elon Cloud and Jacob Hutchens split the goalkeeping duties and each had 5 saves.
10-1 - Comstock 0 - Calhoun Christian 5
Comstock came out strong and played well for 30 minutes holding Calhoun Christian to 1 goal in the first half.
Second half did not go as well for the Colts, a couple of takeaways for sure!
Calhoun Christian held us to 4 shots total. Elon Cloud had 15 saves and Jacob Hutchins played the last 10 minutes in the goal and had 4 saves.
9-24 - Comstock 2 - Hartford 3
WHAT A GAME!!! We have played 4 games since we last played Hartford at home on Sept 8. The result of that game was a 0-10 loss.
Words cannot describe how proud I am of this TEAM tonight. The game came down to the last few minutes and we had a chance to tie it up with 25 seconds on the clock, however the shot went just wide of the goalpost.
Carter Morrison had two goals with one assist from Jacob Hutchens and one directly from a throw out from our goalkeeper Elon Cloud. Jacob and Isaiah Smith also each had a shot on goal.
Defensive standouts tonight Lukas Rooney, Kaleb O'Dell and AJ Andrews. Elon Cloud had 17 saves in the goal.
9-22 - Comstock 2 - Bangor 6
Travelled to Bangor and started out really strong offensively, We possessed the ball well and moved the ball better in our attacking third of the field. Although we came up short tonight we can focus on the small wins. The game was tied at halftime 2-2. We had 10 shots on goal. We allowed the least amount of shots taken so far this season -16. Bangor came out strong in the second half and scored a quick 3 goals in 5 minutes. That being said,we recovered, we tightened it back up and only allowed one more goal in the next 25 minutes. Lessons learned and on to a tough Hartford squad on Wednesday. Carter Morrison had both goals tonight, both assists by Jacob Hutchens. Elon Cloud 10 saves in the goal and a PK save!!!
9-17 - Comstock 2 - Bloomingdale 5
The team played a tough game in very hot weather! Bloomingdale has a turf field so that was a new experience for many of the boys. The score was 0-2 at halftime,we made a few adjustments to our formation that allowed us to move the ball a little better offensively in the second half. Carter Morrison scored 2 goals, one with a great assist from Jacob Hutchens and the other a through ball from Isaiah Smith. Unfortunately, we could not contain a strong Bloomingdale offense and we allowed 3 goals in the second half. Great overall team effort, Elon Cloud another 20+ saves in the goal.
9-15 - Comstock 4 - Covert 6
A really competitive game all around. The team played well offensively and defensively with the lead changing several times throughout the game however much of the game it was tied. Covert pulled ahead by 2 with under 5 minutes to play.
Carter Morrison had a hat trick, Isaiah Smith had a goal in his first game as a Colt and Jacob Hutchins had a beautiful assist. Antonio Nelson also had a strong offensive showing. Lukas Rooney controlled the midfield and AJ Andrews played a great game defensively. Elon Cloud again had over 25 saves in the goal for the Colts!
9-10 - Comstock 2 - Lawrence 7
Wow, so proud of how the boys finished the game today. They played so hard for the last 8 minutes of the game, a lot to be said for how tenacious they were right to the end. There was alot of improvement as far as teamwork and passing tonight. Offensively Carter Morrison had 4 shots on goal scoring 2 goals! Rocco DeFrancisco and Jacob Hutchins both had a shot on goal as well.
Defensively, Lukas Rooney, AJ Andrews and Antonio Nelson all forced several turnovers. Elon Cloud is a natural in the goal, he had 19 saves tonight.
9-8 - Comstock 0 - Hartford 8
Tough game tonight against a very talented Hartford squad. We worked hard defensively and Elon Cloud had an outstanding game in the goal.
We could not get anything going offensively tonight, the boys played hard until the end. We were mercied with 12:30 minutes left to play in the game. We chose to play out the 12 minutes to complete the game.
9-3 - Comstock 3 - Bangor 8
Our home opener did not end how we wanted, however we look forward to working on the opportunities we identified!
We were strong offensively with Carter Morrison scoring 2 goals in the first half and 1 goal in the second half. Jacob Hutchens was strong offensively as well, with 1 assist and a couple of shots on goal. Rocco DeFrancisco also had 2 offensive runs in the second half.
Lukas Rooney was strong at the midfield and AJ Andrews played well for us in front of the goal today along with Kaleb O’Dell. Elon Cloud had numerous fantastic saves in the goal that kept us in the game right up to the end.
Injuries in the last 12 minutes caused us to play down 2 players for the remainder of the game. It was at this point the score went from 3-4 to 3-8. All in all, I am very proud of the game we played.
Zayden Brown, Cody Warren and Kaleb O’Dell all had a strong showing for their first MS soccer game.
