Randy Hunt

Randy Hunt

Class of 1995

Randy Hunt was one of the fiercest competitors ever to set foot on the track. He trained harder than any High School student I have ever seen, in any sport. Though his track stats are very impressive, he was not a one dimensional student athlete. Randy was a member of National Honor Society, Honor Roll, winner of the B'nai B'rith award, and student in every advanced class offered at Comstock. Randy was a large part of a Wolverine Conference championship soccer team, MVP of the basketball team, and a true all around athlete. Most people know that Randy was a part of aback to back State Championship track team. What most people may not know is that Randy literally could have won State for Comstock on his own during Randy's senior year. Comstock finished with 70 and second place had 28. Randy contributed 32.5 of Comstock’s 70 points (30 as an individual champ in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 2.5 points as anchor of the 400m relay). Randy is also, to this day, the only person in Michigan track history to win all four track events at state, regardless of class. Now, 15 years later, I still bump into people who ask that since I went to Comstock if I knew Randy Hunt who they say was the most athletic kid they’ve ever seen. As his brother I usually smile and say "yeah, I have heard of him." Written by Quentin Hunt
