2-26 - Comstock 49 - Delton-Kellogg 35

The varsity girls basketball team beat Delton-Kellogg on Thursday 49-35 to finish their season at 12-8.  Their above .500 record is the 1st in many years.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with her season high 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.  Katie Leaders also chipped in 12 points and had 9 rebounds.  Brooke Munson played a great game defending their best player and doing a great job.  Laken Groll finished the game with 3 more blocks.

2-24 - Comstock 48 - Constantine 40

The varsity girls basketball team beat Constantine last night 48-40.  Ahkyla Blakely led the way again with 17 points.  Her speed and tenacity make her one of the best guards in the area.  Laken Groll stepped up big in her 2nd start of the season by scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.

2-18 - Comstock 25 - Harper Creek 53

The varsity girls basketball team played a good 1st quarter being down only 13-10 but couldn't withstand the pressure created by Harper Creek.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 13 points.

2-16 - Comstock 50 - Sturgis 63

The varsity girls basketball team lost to Sturgis last night 50-63.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals.  Ari Stewart chipped in 11 which included 3 more 3's bringing her season total to 25 which is 12 short of the school record for 3's in a season.  Nine Colts got into the scoring column on the night.

2-13 - Comstock 46 - Schoolcraft 40

The varsity girls basketball team came up with a big win vs Schoolcraft on Friday night 46-40.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 16 points and 8 steals while Morgan Baker added 13 points and 5 steals.  Laken Groll proved to be a difference maker on defense recording 8 blocks on the night.

2-10 - Comstock 44 - Allegan 41

The varsity girls basketball team beat Allegan 44-41 last night.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 19 points 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and a block.  Morgan Baker had 10 points and 9 rebounds while Ari Stewart hit 3 big 3's to finish with 9 points.  Mistie McMakin also played great defense.  The game was back and forth throughout the night with both teams having a 7 point lead at some time.  With under 2 minutes remaining the Colts 5 point lead dwindled to being down a point.  With 30 seconds remaining, Ahkyla Blakely scored the go ahead basket and then made 2 free throws to help seal the win.

2-6 - Comstock 33 - Galesburg-Augusta 49

The Varsity girls basketball team lost to Galesburg-Augusta 49-33 last Friday.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals.  Katie Leaders played smart defense and finished with 6 rebounds.  Mikala Sims, Abby Schreiner and Laken Groll received their 1st start of the year and did a good job.  Maissa Vandyk and Miranda Cannon moved up for this one game and each recorded their 1st varsity basket.

2-3 - Comstock 38 - Hackett 31

The varsity girls basketball team beat Hackett last night 38-31.  The girls did a wonderful job on the defensive end and they also kept themselves out of foul trouble which is a big improvement.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.  Katie Leaders also chipped in 10 and along with Mistie McMakin and Laken Groll, did a great job defending the post.

1-30 - Comstock 38 - Parchment 45

The varsity girls basketball team lost to Parchment 45-38.  The girls played pretty well on defense but Parchment came out hot in the 1st half outscoring the Colts 29-13.  The 3rd quarter was a different story as the Colts continued to work hard on defense and they outscored the Panthers 17-5 to pull within 3 points but that was as close as they got.  Morgan Baker led the Colts with 11 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks and a charge.  Ari Stewart also chipped in 11 points which included 3 3's.

1-27 - Comstock 43 - Kalamazoo Christian 36

The varsity girls basketball team won a tight game vs Kalamazoo Christian last nigh 43-36.  The Colts led the entire game until being down 1 with 3 minutes to play and then went on an 8-0 run to finish the game.  Mistie McMakin hit 2 big free throws and Katie Leaders added 4 during that stretch.  Katie Leaders let the Colts with 16 points and had 6 blocks on the night.  Morgan Baker turned in a strong performance with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists.  Laken Groll grabbed 10 rebounds as well.

1-23 - Comstock 55 - Delton-Kellogg 58

The varsity girls bball team lost a close one to Delton-Kellogg last Friday.  Morgan Baker led the team with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.  Ari Stewart chipped in 15 points and Ahkyla Blakely added 10.  Brooke Munson played tough defense but overall wasn’t enough to get us the win.

1-20 - Comstock 51 - Constantine 20

The varsity girls basketball team beat Constantine last night 51-20 pushing their record to 6-3.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 18 points and 5 steals while Morgan Baker chipped in 13.  Laken Groll had a great evening scoring 6 points and ripping down 10 boards.  Brooke Munson hit her 1st 3 of the year and scored 5 points.

1-16 - Comstock 38 - Schoolcraft 37

Comstock varsity girls basketball team beat Schoolcraft 38-37 on Friday night.  Morgan Baker and Ahkyla Blakely led the charge with 13 points each while Katie Leaders chipped in 8 with some great outside shooting.  Laken Groll proved to be a difference maker blocking 3 shots and pulling in 8 rebounds.  Mistie McMakin played superb defense on the last play of the game to disrupt a would be game winning shot by Schoolcraft and secure the win for Comstock.

1-13 - Comstock 59 - Coloma 42

The girls varsity basketball team beat Coloma last night 59-42.  Ahkyla Blakely led the team with 18 points and she had 4 steals.  The best all around game was by Morgan Baker who had 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals.  Katie Leaders chipped in 10 points as well.  Every Colt contributed in the teams win.

12-16 - Comstock 32 - Hackett 30

The varsity girls basketball team beat Hackett 32-30.  The Colts led throughout the game until it was tied with about a minute to go.  Off of a missed shot, Ahkyla Blakely raced down the floor to score with 11 seconds to go to win the game.  Morgan Baker led the Colts with 9 points.  Ahkyla Blakely had 8 points and 4 steals and Laken Groll led the team with 12 rebounds.  

12-9 - Comstock 57 - South Haven 44

The varsity girls basketball team beat South Haven last night 57-44.  The Colts came out on fire in the 1st quarter racing out to a 12-2 lead before things became tight.  As the 4th quarter came around, the Colts put some pressure on and scored 24 in the quarter to win the game.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 14 points and 6 rebounds.  Morgan Baker had her best game of the season scoring 13 points and having 5 assists and 5 steals.  Ari Stewart was also a big boost hitting 2 more 3's to give her 11 points for the game with 6 3's on the season.  Katie Leaders played great defense and Brooke Munson came in to give quality minutes off the bench.

12-4 - Comstock 43 - Kalamazoo Christian 33

The varsity girls basketball team beat Kalamazoo Christian last night 43-33.  Ahkyla Blakely led all scorers with 9 points and also had 5 steals. Morgan Baker and Ari Stewart chipped in 8 each.  Laken Groll led all rebounders with 9.  Bailey Scohy came off the bench and gave some solid minutes contributing 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks.

12-2 - Comstock 46 - Pennfield 52

The varsity girls basketball team started out the game on a 7-0 run and battled the rest of the game.  Katie Leaders led all scorers with 14.  Ahkyla Blakely scored 12 points and also had 7 assists and Ari Stewart scored 9 that included two 3's and a perfect 3/3 from the free throw line.
