The 6th grade girls Stampede dominated on Saturday going 3-0 and bringing home 1st place at the Athens tournament. The team played well and was able to again beat a tough Lakeview team 34-26. We went on to beat Athens and Reading with great aggressive team defense by only giving up 11 points combined in those games.

The 6th grade girls stampede got off to a slow start Sunday morning at the Comstock tournament but did manage to beat Gull Lake 24-14. They picked it up in game two all playing well on defense and offense beating Gobles 43-17. This matched them up against Pennfield, which was also 2-0 coming into the game and the winner advanced to the championship. The Lady Colts beat Pennfield winning 35-33. Our ladies played hard in the final game but wore down losing to Vicksburg 38-31. Congratulations to the girls for bringing home the 2nd place trophy and medals.

The lady stampede started off slow in game 1 vs Joneville, but fought back to come up just short in the last seconds losing 25-23. The loss lit a fire and the ladies dominated in the next 3 games to finish runner up in the tournament.  Ondraya Morris and Ciannah Lyerla did a great job hustling out there.  Ahkyla Blakeley lead the team in scoring averaging 15 points.  Kaylee Gilley and Kierra Lovelace averaged 8 and 6 respectively.

The 6th grade girls went 3-0 this weekend and took first place at the Camden Frontier tournament. All the girls played hard and aggressive in beating Pittsford, Reading and Camden Frontier. Ahkyla Blakeley lead the way in scoring averaging 20 points a game. Also getting in the scoring column was Kierra Lovelace with 11, Ciannah Lyerla with 8, Arreona Blakeley with 2 and Kaylee Gilley with 4.

The 6th grade girls Stampede played aggressive and hard this weekend at the Grass Lake tournament. We earned the number one seed on Saturday by going 3-0 in pool play.
Grass Lake Tournament - Single Elimination
1-21 - Comstock 33 - Napoleon 22
1-21 - Comstock 22 - Pennfield 25
In the single elimination brackets the lady colts earned a bye then played Napeleon again and won 33-22, advancing to the semi-finals against Pennfield. It was a hard fought game it went back and forth but we came up short losing 25-22. I'm proud of how the girls played going 4-1 for the weekend.

12-10 - Comstock 28 - Kalamazoo Central 35

The 6th grade stampede lost to Kalamazoo Central on Saturday moving their record to 6-3 on the season.  All the girls played hard and we expect to give it a run this weekend for the championship!

12-3 - Comstock 31 - Lakeview 36

The 6th grade Stampede team lost to Lakeview 36-31 to move their record to 6-2 with one game left before the tournament. We had 5 girls score on Saturday with Kaylee Gilley leading the way with 11 and Ahkyla Blakeley with 9.

11-19 - Comstock 34 - Pennfield 37

In game two the stampede suffered it's first loss to Pennfield in a close game 37-34. All the girls played well and hopefully we'll see them again in the tourney.  Great job girls and keep up the good season!

11-19 - Comstock 38 - Mattawan 24

The 6th grade stampede had a double header Saturday beating Mattawan in the morning 38-24. Leading the way was Ahkyla Blakely with 16 points and Kaylee Gilley with 14. Destiny White played some good minutes but we did have a big loss with Arreona Blakely going down with a fractured ankle. Keep up the spirits Arreona we'll and we'll see you back soon!

11-12 - Comstock 27 - Portage North 13

The 6th grade Comstock Stampede are now 5-0 following a 27-13 victory over Portage Northern. It was a rough scappy battle but the girls played hard and pulled off the win. Kaylee Gilley lead in scoring with 12 points and Ahkyla Blakeley followed up with 6. Also a big shout out to Ciannah Lyerla for getting in the scoring column for the first time this year. Nice job girls lets keep it rolling going into this weekend's games.

11-5 - Comstock 46 - Portage Central 24

The 6th grade girls Stampede team improved their record to 4-0 by beating Portage Central 46-24 on Saturday. Ondraya Moris was all over the floor with her aggressive defense and Armoni Woodson chipped in with a few assists. Ahkyla Blakely lead the team in scoring with 20 points, Kaylee Gilley with 14 and Kierra Lovelace with 8. Great job ladies!

10-29 - Comstock 60 - Delton 19

The Comstock 6th grade girls Stampede Basketball team improved their record to 3-0 with an impressive victory over Delton Saturday 60-19. We had a very balanced scoring attack with Arreona Blakely scoring 8 and Ondraya Moris all over the boards with her aggressiveness. Ciannah Lyerla also chipped in with some very nice assists. Nice job ladies!

10-22 - Comstock 44 - Otsego 23

The 6th grade girls Stampede team beat Otsego last Saturday to move them to 2-0 on the season. Kaylee Gilley lead the team in scoring with 16 followed by Kierra Lovelace and Ahkyla Blakely each with 12 pts. Way to go lady colts!

10-15 - Comstock 35 - Gull Lake 21

Comstock 6th grade girls team got off to a good start winning at Gull Lake. Ciannah Lyerla and Jasmine Alcocer both were aggressive in their first game for the Stampede. Great start to the season ladies!
