10-11 - Comstock 0 - Hackett 9

We knew this was going to be a hard game going in, but we played with everything we had and left it all on the field. Most of the game was contained to our defensive third, but we made sure to give our opponent a hard time with each shot they took.

Of course, we wish the score had been better, but this was a great game to wrap up the season. We played well together, connected passes to everyone on the field, marked up as best we could, and stayed together as a team for the duration.

Shout out to Harman Singh who had our only shot this game and kept Hackett on their toes.

10-9 - Comstock 1 - LMC 5

We had a tough time in the first half playing as a team and keeping morale up. We had some big miscommunication in the defensive line which led to the other team scoring a few early goals.

At halftime, we had to reset and put it all out there to come together as a team and we had a much better second half because of it. We only had three shots on goal the entire game which ultimately was our downfall. A special shoutout to Owen Roush who had the only goal of this game and his first of the season.

10-4 - Comstock 6 - Quincy 7

This was a great game for us in a lot of ways. We had 5 players taking shots the whole game and a number of guys with nice assists. During the first half we were unselfish with the ball and worked it around the offensive third waiting for our best opportunity.

Unfortunately, a few of our key players had off days and it created a hole in the middle of our field which made it easy for the other team to penetrate and score. Shoutout to Tyler Baker for his goal straight from the corner kick and to Chris Ramos for getting his first assist.

10-2 - Comstock 1 - Bloomingdale 7

We've played this team three times now this season and this was easily our best performance and shows just how much we've progressed this season. This game was much more two-sided than our previous match ups. We were 6-0 at half and managed to keep the other team to 1 goal in the second half and set up Trey Kohler for a goal ourselves. Bloomingdale brought their best game and we managed to keep them working hard the whole time.

Even though this was a significant loss, I'm very proud of how the boys played and how committed they've been to working through the hard parts of growing. Shoutout to Cayden Schultz who continues to shine increasingly on the field every game and to our entire defensive line who shut down attack after attack from the Bloomingdale offensive line.

9-27 - Comstock 1 - Maple Valley 2

This was easily the best played game for everyone this season. We started a little slow and the other team got an early goal because of it, but for the rest of the game we controlled the majority of possession and play.

We had several shots on goal that went right to the keeper, but we're built from hard work in the defense and midfield. It's too bad that the scoreboard didn't reflect the full 80 minutes, but the guys really brought it this time around.

Shoutout to Cayden Schultz for creating plays as CAM and Hayden Rogusta for leading a strong, effective defense.

9-25 - Comstock 1 - Cassopolis 7

We came out strong this game and limited the opponent's opportunities. We worked the ball and pushed hard to score the first goal of the game and it was 1-0 at half time. They scored early into the second half. Landon Hofacre had an amazing goal that came from their defense passing it back the the keeper, the keeper booting it out, and Landon deflecting it into the goal. Unfortunately the center official called an unintentional hand ball after the goal occurred.

We ended up losing, but we continued to develop shooting opportunities and I'm very happy with how we played. We made some mistakes, but everyone in the stands and on the other team could see how much we've improved over the year.

9-21 - Comstock 0 - Hartford 11

We new this was going to be a tough game going in but we played with our best effort regardless. This game gave the opportunity for many of us to play positions we haven't tried before and get some people excited about learning something new.

Shoutout to Landon Hofacre who got much-needed break from keeper and was our most aggressive field player this match. Also special thanks to all those who volunteered to give keeper a try.

9-18 - Comstock 1 - Bangor 10

Even though this was a tough game for us, we continued to fight for the whole game. Because of that hard work, Trey Kohler got a goal with five minutes left in the first half (assisted by Harman Singh).

After about 20 minutes, we tried some people in new positions to keep things interesting and to keep the other team on their toes.

9-14 - Comstock 1 - Schoolcraft 5

Sometimes we're a first half team, sometimes we're a second half team. Today we were an inconsistent mix of neither. We would have 10 good minutes of good passing, communication, and energy followed by 10 minutes of being on our heels, not stepping to balls, and turnovers.

At halftime we were down 0-1 and anything could happen. Our energy was low going into the second half but we managed to get a nice goal from Trey Kohler. We had other shots that were close, but would have been better with one more pass up top before the shot.

9-13 - Comstock 0 - Bloomingdale 8

Another tough loss to Bloomingdale but we had a much better game this time around. The match was 0-0 at half time and we were building plays with the help of every team mate on the field. It was a perfectly played half and very evenly matched.

In the second half, Bloomingdale stepped it up and put in most of their starters. We finished early with 3 minutes left to full time. Despite the loss, I was proud of the way our boys played, not only in the first half when it was even, but also in the second half when we continued to fall behind.

9-11 - Comstock 0 - Parchment 8

This game was evenly matched for the first 20 minutes and we had a few opportunities that just didn't come together. Unfortunately the other team scored 4 goals within a few minutes of each other. Some of them were good goals and some were bumbles on our side, but we got completely down on ourselves and gave up until it was 0-8.

We had a few minutes left in the first half and our team got their second wind in order to try to stay in the game and bring it through to the second half. Unfortunately, it was too late at that point. Shout out this game to Cayden Schultz for seeing opportunities and being a playmaker in the midfield.

9-9 - Bloomingdale Tournament - Comstock 7 - Bronson 4

Everything really came together for us during this game. All the work that we have been putting in this season finally paid off. We were building plays from the defense and capitalizing on every opportunity to take a shot. Our midfield was connecting multiple passes in a row and making good runs with their teammates.

Shout out to Trey Kohler who had four goals this game and to Cayden Schultz who had three goals. This team was a good competition for us and really helped demonstrate how well we can play.

9-9 - Bloomingdale Tournament - Comstock 0 - Bloomingdale 8

This was a tough loss after playing so we'll in the game before. We were down one of our key players due to an unfortunate red card, but that was far from our only problem.

This team outpaced us on every opportunity and we couldn't be patient defensively, which lead to their quick offense easily working around us. Our shape fell apart easily and we started to get snippy with our own team. It's easy to be a team player when we're performing well and this game reminded us that we need to stick together no matter what the score is on the board.

9-7 - Comstock 0 - Lawton 8

I think most of our team walked into this game thinking it would be an easy win because we beat them last season. But our opponent tonight wasn't the team they were last year. They played a game of simple triangles and big switches and we were caught on our heels by it.

This is the first game I've seen us play where our heads were down. After about the 4th goal I felt our guys just give up on themselves. We switched up the formation and the lineup at halftime to use whatever time we had left as a chance to focus on controlling the ball and looking for opportunities.

9-6 - Comstock 0 - Cassopolis 8

Tonight was another unfortunate loss for us, but I couldn't be more proud of the way we played. Our opponent capitalized on a few defensive errors to score 3 early, preventable goals which made it difficult to come back.

In spite of being down early, the boys came out hard and played good, simple soccer. We were marking up defensively and connecting passes on the ground and to feet for the entire first half.

We were interrupted by weather delays a few times, but that didn't break our stride. Every game, we learn more about how we need to play and about how to work as a team. This game really demonstrated our growth so far this season.

8-30 - Comstock 1 - Hartford 9

We really struggled to defend in the first 20 minutes of this game which ended up being our downfall. Our offense started to see opportunities created by good passing and communication, but didn't get enough shots off to translate that into goals.

Thankfully, a 30 yd goal from Trey Kohler kept us from getting mercied in the first half and we had a chance to keep playing after halftime. It's too bad that we were already so far behind because we were finally giving them a run for their money.

8-28 - Comstock 0 - Bangor 8

We struggled to keep up with Bangor in the first half. We lost every 50/50 ball and got beat by their quick offense no matter what we did.

The second half was a totally different story. Even though the game finished early, we dominated possession and opportunities after half time. This second half represents the team that we can be and gives us something to look to for the rest of the season.

8-21 - Comstock 1 - Hopkins 9

This game forced us to face what we need to work on for the rest of the season. Our defense is still learning to shift as a unit, while our offside trap has been surprisingly effective. We lost most of our possession in the midfield and have to transition better to create goal scoring opportunities.

In spite of the loss, this game featured some major highlights. First of all, Landon Hofacre had 35 amazing saves and was easily the MVP. Trey Kohler was out goal scorer with a perfect penalty kick to the bottom right corner.
