Scholarships for Comstock Public Schools Students 

    1.  BRBS (Grand Rapids Building Service) | Deadline:  February 1st
  • Pursing post-secondary education or training

  • One page essay on how you’ve overcome hardships/obstacles

          2.   MEA (Michigan Education Association) | Deadline:  February 24

  • Department of MEA member in good standing or MEA retired member

  • Graduate of a Michigan public school or private high school

  • Will attend a Michigan public community/junior college, four-year institution, or vocational training institution. Those attending the following private institutions ONLY are eligible: Baker College-Flint/Owasso; University of Detroit Mercy; Davenport University-Eastern Region Campus; Adrian College; Finlandia University; Albion College; Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University.

  • Children of MEA officers, fund trustees, and MEA staff are not eligible

         3.   Charles Pratt | Deadline: March 31st

  • GPA 2.8 or better

  • Pursing a law related degree (lawyer, corrections officer, police officer, criminal justice major, etc.)

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • Four brief essay questions

        4.  Kate Kwansy | Deadline: March 31st

  • 2.5 GPA or higher

  • Pursing an education degree

  • Enrolled at a full-time, four-year Michigan university

  • One page resume with references

  • Essay describing your career goals (1 page minimum)

        5. Richmond | Deadline: March 31st

  • 2.75 GPA or higher

  • Planning to attend K-College, Western or KVCC

  • Two letters of recommendation (1 teachers and one coach/community member, etc)

  • Must demonstrate leadership and community involvement

        6.  Mary Roe | Deadline: April 15th

  • GPA 3.0 or higher

  • Pursing a 4 year degree in math or science

  • Community service participation

  • Extra-curricular participation

  • One page essay (where do you envision yourself in 10 years?)

  • One teacher recommendation

        7.  Howard Ewles | Deadline: April 15th

  • GPA of 3.3 or higher

  • Must be pursuing a math or science degree

  • Letter of recommendation from a math or science teacher

  • Explanation of career goals

        8.  Comstock College & Career Academy | Deadline: April 15th

  • Must be accepted and plan to enroll as a full-time student

  • Must have participated in College and Career Academy events

  • Consistent success/growth from freshman to senior years

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • Essay describing how the college and career academy has helped you in solidifying your post-secondary plans

        9. CEA (Comstock Education Association) | Deadline: April 22nd

  • Pursuing a post-secondary degree

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • One page essay about your life goals

     

    ***All scholarship packets are available in student services. Please pay attention to all deadlines, as late/incomplete applications will not be review.

    ***Begin requesting letters of recommendation now in order to give those writing them for you an appropriate amount of time to complete them.
