The 7th grade girls team ended their Rising Stars season on a high note winning the last game of the season against Parchment. Selena Alvarado and Taylor Wells did a great job getting the ball up the court and being leaders on the floor. Michaela Kessler did and excellent job at rebounding and playing help defense. Audrey Douglas was also very instrumental in the success of the team.
12-3 - Comstock 8 - Marshall 46
Our Girls put up a good fight and were able to get a few points on the board. Gabby Head, Salena Alvarado, Audrey Douglas, Miranda Cannon and Taylor Wells did an amazing job on defensive in the second quarter holding Marshall to no points earned. Morgan Watson forced a few turnovers to our advantage. Laken Groll, Gabby Head, and Miranda Cannon led the team in scoring.
12-3 - Comstock 12 - Lakeview 45
Taylor Wells offensively held her own against the relentless full court presses with great teamwork and support from Nia Jones, and Michaela Kessler. Gabby Head aggressively attempted to stop the ace shooters before they scored and Morgan Watson attacked Lakeview with Comstock Pride. Audrey Douglas, Laken Groll and Miranda Cannon led the team in scoring.
11-19 - Comstock 7 - BC St. Phillip 34
The Girls competed against St Phil in Battle Creek. Alexis Black scored 2 right off of the tip off and Mikaela Kessler scored 2 points in the second quarter. Audrey Douglas gave us our last two points in the 4th quarter and Miranda Cannon scored one free throw.
11-12 - Comstock 15 - Portage North 44
Marissa Vandyk led the team with 6 points. Overall, this game was the best team effort of the year. The girls did a better job breaking down the zone and the defense is getting better.
11-5 - Comstock 4 - Gull Lake 28
7th grade girls competed against Gull Lake on Saturday. It was a tough game that saw Marissa Vandyk score all the points for Comstock. Taylor wells also made a 3 pointer just after the buzzer sounded that didn't count. Audrey Douglas did an great job defensively for the team.
10-29 - Comstock 28 - Delton 25
The girls played a very competitive game against Delton. The Girls were motivated and ready to win with great teamwork, sportsmanship and communication on the court. Defensively, we had many turnovers which helped increase our scoring opportunities. The team was really driven to win and played extremely well against their zone.
10-26 - Comstock 11 - Galesburg 22
Nia Jones and Taylor Fawley led the Stampede in scoring and Morgan Watson added a 3 pointer. Selena Alvarado added several assists and Taylor Wells lead a great defense. Awesome Team work and Sportsmanship Girls. Keep it up!
10-23 - Kalamazoo Heat Tourney
The 7th Grade girls played two aggressive Games on Saturday and competed in the Kalamazoo Heat Tournament on Sunday. Congrats to our 7th grade Girls for putting up a tenacious effort. Your sportsmanship and teamwork is top notch. Standouts were Morgan Watson for outside shooting, Taylor Wells for leading an aggressive defense and Laken Groll for stepping and stepping up.
