Comstock 0 - Grand Rapids South Christian 6
The girls varsity soccer team ended their season with a loss to Grand Rapids
South Christian 6-0. The colts held the 10th ranked team in the state to a 2-0
halftime score but the sailors were just to powerful and wore us down the second
half. Great play by the whole team with a never give up attitude! Thank you
lady's for a wonderful season!
5-25 - Comstock 0 - Delton-Kellogg 4
The Comstock girls varsity lost to Delton 4-0 on senior night. Once again the
colts never stopped attacking and challenging every ball but Delton was just too
strong. Congratulations to all the seniors at last night's game. The never give
up attitude was apparent.
5-20 - Comstock 0 - Hopkins 2
The girls varsity soccer team lost to Hopkins on Friday 2-0. The lady colts
fought till the last second trying to get a goal. Playing tough for the colts
were Sam Huffstutter Callie James Gabby Langejans Jada Rose and Kaitlynne Burns.
5-18 - Comstock 9 - Cassopolis 1
The lady colts started off a bit slow
last night letting Cassopolis strike first. The colts came back with a vengeance
scoring 9 goals in 40 minutes to end the game 9-1. Scoring for the colts were
Taylor James with 5 goals and a new school record for goals in a game! Sammy
Huffstutter, Kaitlyn Shoemaker, Days Sweet, and Callie James all adding a goal
each. Callie James set a new school record with 7 assists in 1 game. It was a
record breaking night and a great game played by all. Great job girls!!!
5-16 - Comstock 2 - Bridgman 4
The Comstock varsity soccer team loss to Bridgman 4-2. Scoring for the colts
were Abby Jepkema and Callie James.
5-13 - Comstock 2 - Schoolcraft 3
Comstock girls soccer team battled till the last second in a nail biter against
Schoolcraft on Friday. The last colts fell short in a 3-2 loss. Scoring for the
colts were Taylor and Callie James. Once again the never give up attitude was
displayed throughout the entire game! Great job ladies!
5-11- Comstock 0 - Parchment 8
The colts lost to a tough Parchment team last night 8-0. The team played
the with stellar poise and tenacity but the panthers were just too overpowering.
Excellent play by Callie James, Taylor James, Samantha Huffstutter, Miranda
Cannon, Gabby Langejans and Sarah Schroeder.
5-6 - Comstock 0 - Hartford 2
The girls varsity soccer team lost a tough battle with Hartford on Friday 2-0. The girls played very well moving the ball up the field with poise. Sammy Huffstutter was quick to the ball and played excellent in the mid field. The colts never gave up trying to win the battle for victory all the way till the buzzer. Excellent effort ladies!!
5-4 - Comstock 6 - Berrien Springs 0
The girls varsity soccer team was victorious last night against Berrien Springs 6-0. Scoring for the colts was Taylor James with 2 goals , Callie James, Tajah Thomas, Lauren Bonds, and Dayse Sweet all adding a goal. Great effort and ball control was displayed throughout the entire game. Great job ladies!! Next up is Hartford at home on Friday. Hope to see everyone out there to support the lady colts!
4-29 - Comstock 1 - Bangor 5
The girls varsity soccer team lost to a strong Bangor team on Friday 5-1. The colts were down 4-0 at half. After halftime the colts came out like a different team! Comstock held Bangor to just 1 goal in the second half and Taylor James scored our only goal that half. Very proud of the never give up attitude the girls displayed on Friday. Excellent defensive play by Tajah Thomas, Sara Schroeder, Gabby Langejans, Miranda Cannon, and excellent keeping by Gabby Sousa.
4-27 - Comstock 5 - Maple Valley 0
The varsity girls we out tonight firing on all cylinders scoring 4 quick goals 2 by Taylor James 1 by Callie James and another by Miranda Cannon early in the first half. The colts ended the game 5-0 with another goal added by Kyla Bates late in the second half.
4-25 - Comstock 4 - Cassopolis 0
The lady Colts dominated the pitch last night with a 4-0 win over Cassopolis. Scoring for the colts was Taylor James with a hat trick and Lauren Bonds added one. Stellar play by all players last night!
4-21 - Comstock 1 - Coloma 4 - Scrimmage
Callie James scored on an assist by Tajah Thomas.
4-20 - Comstock 1 - Brandywine 2
The girls varsity lost 2-1 to Brandywine in a back and forth match. The score was 0-0 with 20 minutes to go in the second half and Brandywine put two quick goals in the net. The colts put 1 goal in with about 15 minutes to go in the game by Tajah Thomas assisted by Callie James. The finial 15 minutes the colts had Brandywine stuck in their half of the field with lots of opportunities but we just couldn't put another one in the back of the net.
4-18 - Comstock 1 - Saugatuck 1
The varsity soccer team face a physical Saugatuck team last night but the colts battled through the adversity to strike first with a nice thru pass by Callie James to Kaitlyn Shoemaker. The colts held Saugatuck scoreless till 6 minutes to go in the game with our strong physical play by Callie James in the middle. The girls didn't give up and pressured the ball for 2 more opportunities in the last 2 minutes of the game including a nice cross by Tajah Thomas to Sammy Huffstutter with the ball just going wide of the post. The colts ended up with a tie but great effort girls throughout the whole game. Excellent defense by Taylor James, Sara Schroeder, Gabby Langejans and Miranda Cannon.
4-16 - Comstock 1 - Bridgman 0
4-16 - Comstock 1 - Watervliet 0 - Shootout
Saturday the girls varsity soccer team came away with 2 exciting nail
biters. In the first game against Bridgman the score was tied 0-0. 10 minutes
into the second half Taylor James connected with Tajah Thomas to score the
winning goal of the game. Taylor broke the Comstock assists in a career record
with her assist.
In our second game against Watervliet the colts battled back and forth with
the panthers to finish 0-0 at the end of regulation. The lady colts stepped it
up putting 3 of 5 penalty kicks in to the back of the net. Callie James made 2
amazing diving save and 1 of the panthers kicks went wide. Then it was all up
to Gabby Langejans to seal the victory for the colts and like a seasoned veteran
struck the ball well to give the colts a 3-2 PK shoot out victory!!
Congratulations to Callie James on her 2 shut outs and Taylor James for
breaking the all time career assist record. And to Gabby Langejans Tajah Thomas
and Miranda Cannon for their calm under pressure pk's to seal the victory.
4-13 - Comstock 0 - Buchanan 1
3-30 - Comstock 0 - Lawton 4
The Colts were out scored last night by a high offensive Lawton team. The colts had a few opportunities but just couldn't find the back of the net. Exceptional play by Callie James Taylor James and Gabby Langejans.
3-24 - Comstock 0 - Olivet 1
The colts lost a tough battle with olivet last night 1-0. The Colt took on alot of offensive pressure from a good olivet team. Great performances from Callie James in the net only allowing a goal on a p.k. and faced 22 shots on goal with strong defensive play by Taylor James with over 20 stops and good midfield play by Sammy Huffstutter.
