12-14 - Comstock 43 - Galesburg-Augusta 41
The 7th grade basketball team beat Galesburg 43-41 last night on the road. Gabe Romero lead all scores with 10 points and and Jeffrey Koss added 6 of his own to help the Colts get the victory. Full court defense lead by Logan Hicks and Kareem Owens helped the Colts come back from a 10 point deficit in the 4th quarter. A great come back and a great win for the team. The Colt’s last game will be this Wednesday at Delton.
12-9 - Comstock vs St. Monica
12-7 - Comstock 34 - Parchment 43
The A-team suffered their first regular season loss at Parchment 43-34. The Colts fought hard and battled back and fourth with the Panthers all game long, but missed shots and a solid Parchment offense kept the Colts out of the win column. Joe Allan scored 10 points to lead the Colts, but great defense lead by Carl Owens, Kareem Owens, Evan Caswell and Caleb Howard helped the Colts fight back in the 4th quarter to make it a close game down the stretch.
12-5 - Comstock Tournament
Comstock 31 - Battle Creek 64
Comstock 58 - Parchment 31
The A-Team also finished in 3rd place, losing their first game to a great Battle Creek team 64-31. Turnovers hurt the Colts who kept it close in the first half but could not keep up with the quick Battle Creek team. Gerald Crawford and Kyle Mortimere both had 7 points and Kareem Owens added 6 points for the Colts. In their second game, the Colts beat Parchment 58-31. Great defense allowed the Colts to create a big lead that they never gave up the rest of the game. Kyle Mortimere had a season high 21 points, Joe Allan added 12 points and Evan Caswell chipped in 8 points of his own to lead the offensive charge for the Colts.
12-2 - Comstock vs Kalamazoo Christian
11-24 - Comstock vs Parchment
11-23 - Comstock 43 - Delton-Kellogg 27
The 7th grade A team also defeated Delton 43-27 in a dominating performance. Great defense played by the big guys Dalton Wilkins, Carl Owens and GG Crawford helped stop the post threat of Delton all game long. Joe Allan and Kyle Mortimere both had 12 points to lead the scoring for the Colts who also remain undefeated in regular season play. Please come support both teams this afternoon as they take on Parchment at home; this will be the last game before Thanksgiving break. Happy Holiday to all.
11-18 - Comstock 53 - St. Monica 16
The 7th grade A-team was also victorious against St. Monica, winning 53-16. All 7 players scored for a balanced Colt offense; lead by GG Crawford, who scored 12 points and had over 10 rebounds. Kyle Mortimer added 8 points, Evan Caswell, 9 points, Carl Owens 10 points, Joe Allan, 10 points, and Karreem Owens and Dalton Wilkins both with 2 points. The Colt defense allowed 8 points in the first half and 7 in the second. Great job to both teams. The Colts play next week, Monday and Tuesday at Home.
11-16 - Comstock 47 - Galesburg-Augusta 20
The Comstock 7th grade A team beat Galesburg 47-20. Joe Allan lead all scores with 13 points, while Kyle Mortimere added 9 of his own to lead the Colts to Victory. Great team defense throughout the game allowed the Colts to stay on top and finish strong.
11-9 - Comstock 38 - Kalamazoo Christian 31
The 7th grade A-team also started their season off with a win against K-Christian, 38-31. Dalton Wilkins lead the way with 9 points, while Joe Allan added 8 points of his own to lead the way for the Colts. Great defensive rebounding by Gerald Crawford and Kareem Owens allowed the Colts to withstand the late rally by K-Chirstian and hold on for the victory.
