Comstock's 6th grade Stampede team played great this weekend, ending up in a three way tie for first place.  Against Grand Ledge Carl Owens made some great plays in the open court and Evan Caswell had 8 offense rebounds to keep them alive.  JR Kellum led COmstock in scoring with 11 points.  In the championship game the Colts just fell short.  Evan Caswell score a basketball and converted the free throw to give Comstock a 1 point lead.  Unfortunately on the next possession Mattawan made two clutch free throws to win the game with just one second left.  Both games were played at a very high level.

The 6th grade boys Stampede lost two games to tough opponents on Sunday.  They rebounded in the third game beating Brooklyn (Columbia) by the score of 27-20.  Kareem Owens held their best player to just two points, while he scored 6 points, including 4 steals.  Kyle Mortimer also added 9 points hitting 5 of 6 free throws.

Comstock 6th grade played 3 hard fought games this weekend.  They lost to St. Joe by 5, and Michigan Center (Michiana) by 12.  They won their last game against a team from South Bend, Indiana in overtime on a last second basket by Carl Owens.  Throughout the day Carter Wintz played tough post defense, and Dalton Wilkins made some clutch shots inside.

Comstock 6th grade took 2nd place, their only loss by 3 against Lakeview.  Carl Owens led the team in rebounds, and Carter Wintz made some tough baskets inside.

Comstock 32 - Michigan Center 13

The 6th grade boys stampede team won their division in the tournament Saturday defeating Mattawan, Paw Paw, Dowagiac, then in the championship defeating Michigan Center 32-13 to win first place, outscoring them 24-1 in the second half.  Overall the team played excellent defense, and attacked the hoop well to get all the wins.

11-22 - Comstock 57 - Galesburg-Augusta 16
11-22 - Comstock 46 - Galesburg-Augusta 7

Comstock's 6th grade boys won both games Saturday.  In the first game they won 57-16.  Kyle Mortimer had 15 points leading all scorers.  In the second game Comstock won 46-7.  The team did a great job communicating on defense, and in both games all players scored.

11-15 - Comstock 51 - Vicksburg 32

Comstock 6th grade boys played Vicksburg, losing the first game and winning the second game.  In the second game Comstock defeated Vicksburg 51-32, JR Kellum scoring 19 points, Carl Owens adding 10, and Kyle Mortimer with 10 points.  In addition Kareem Owens added stifling defense, holding Vicksburg's best player to just two baskets.

The 6th grade boys basketball team competed in both games against Mattawan.  They won the first game with two clutch free throws by Kyle Mortimer to win by the score of 43-41.  Carl Owens added 13 points, J.R. Kellum scored 11, and Kyle Mortimer also had 11 points.  It was a great team win

In the second game Comstock came back from 9 points down to take a 4 point lead. Mattawan made a late surge to win 42-40.  Carter Wintz scored 11, J.R. Kellum added 15 points as well.  Evan Caswell and Dalton Wilkins did a great job with rebounding.
