3-11 - Comstock 69 - Marshall 77 OT


Comstock varsity basketball team took on Marshall for the district final on Friday night and ended the season with one of the most thrilling games all year. With the game tied 33-33 at halftime the Colts came out slow in the third quarter and found themselves down 56-40 going into the fourth quarter.  But Comstock had no quit in them and forced turnovers through out the fourth quarter and with a big three pointer to tie the game with just 5 seconds left by Tyreese Gardner the game went to overtime. In overtime Marshall got early control and pulled away to defeat Comstock 77-69. Tyreese Gardner led way in scoring with a season high 31 points. 

3-9 - Comstock 68 - Harper Creek 54

Comstock varsity boys opened up district play Wednesday night against Harper Creek. The Colts got off to a great start playing with great intensity leading at half 29-24. With the lead Comstock played smart basketball getting good looks on offense and controlled the second half to defeat Harper Creek 68-54. Brian Barnes and Tyreese Gardner led the way with 15 points each, while Chad Dingman added 12 points and TraVon Blakely had 10 points. Comstock now advance to the district finals at home Friday at 7 against Marshall. 

3-3 - Comstock 64 - Bronson 60

Comstock varsity boys basketball team snapped there six game losing streak Thursday night defeating Bronson 64-60. The Colts controlled the game from the beginning leading from start to finish even after a late push by Bronson in the fourth quarter. Chad Dingman led the way scoring 17 points and Tyreese Gardner added 14 points.

3-2 - Comstock 55 - Plainwell 56

Comstock varsity boys basketball lost a heart breaker at Plainwell Wednesday night 56-55. Tyreese Gardner had a put back with just under 5 seconds left in the game to take the lead 55-54. With 2 seconds left Plainwell was fouled and knocked down two free throws to take the lead and the victory. Brian Barnes led the Colts in scoring with 14 points, Tyreese Gardner added 11 points, and Chad Dingman had 10 points.

2-25 - Comstock 50 - Brandywine 53

The varsity boys basketball team took on Niles Brandywine Friday night trying to end a three game losing streak. Trailing only by four at halftime and at the end of the third quarter Comstock just couldn't get over the hump. The colts did have a three quarter court shot at the end of the game to try and tie the game but fell short losing 53-50. Brian Barnes led the way scoring 15 points, Chad Dingman and Tyreese Gardner each added 8 points.

2-19 - Comstock 59 - Bridgman 67

The varsity boys basketball team took on Bridgman Friday trying to avenge a early season loss. Comstock got off to a slow start trailing 36-21 at halftime but fought back in the third quarter and were only down five heading into the final quarter 48-43. The Colt's competed until the end but couldn't get it done in the end losing 67-59. Chad Dingman and Tyreese Gardner led the scoring with 12 points each while Cal Ormanovich and Shane Easter each added 10 points.

2-16 - Comstock 59 - Paw Paw 68

The Comstock varsity boys basketball team were defeated at home Tuesday night by Paw Paw 68-59. Paw Paw took the game over in the second and third quarter going on a 39-24 run.  While the colts didn't give up and kept fighting through the fourth quarter they just didn't have enough and didn't knock down free throws down the stretch. Tyreese Gardner led the colts in scoring with 14 points and Chad Dingman had 12 points.

2-12 - Comstock 61 - Parchment 68

Comstock varsity boys basketball team took the short trip to Parchment Friday night to try and sweep the season series. The colts took a 33-26 lead into halftime, but Parchment kept chipping away and only trailed by one going into the fourth quarter. Comstock got off to a slow start in the fourth quarter and gave Parchment enough momentum to take the lead and hold on defeating Comstock 68-61. Tyreese Gardner led the Colts with 17 points and Chad Dingman added 11 points.

2-9 - Comstock 43 - Hackett 63

Comstock varsity boys took on a undefeated Hackett team last night and played 3 quarters of excellent basketball. Leading 39-37 with just seconds left in the third quarter Hackett tossed up a 3/4 court shot at the buzzer and made it to take a 40-39 lead into the fourth quarter. Hackett took that momentum into the fourth quarter and opened the game up defeating the Colts 63-43. Travon Blakely led the scoring with 14 points and Brian Barnes added 10 points.

2-5 - Comstock 55 - Buchanan 53 OT

The varsity boys basketball team defeated Buchanan Friday night in a thrilling overtime game 55-53. Trailing by ten at halftime Comstock came out the second half playing great team defense to get back into the game. The Colts forced a bad shot on the last possession of the game to hold on and come away with a big road conference victory. Tyreese Gardner led all scorers with 19 points while Chad Dingman and Travon Blakely each added 10 points.

2-2 - Comstock 75 - Allegan 28

On Tuesday night the varsity boys basketball team took on Allegan at home and opened the game up early. Comstock was up 23-7 after the first quarter and didn't look back winning 75-28. The Colts put together a complete game on offense and defense, and had 9 different players score in the game led by Chad Dingman with 19 points and Brian Barnes with 14 points.

1-29 - Comstock 49 - Berrien Springs 55

Comstock varsity boys basketball team were defeated Friday night 55-49 in a rematch against Berrien Springs who the Colts beat by one earlier in the season. The game was competitive through out  with Comstock leading at half 25-21 and up 36-33 at the end of the third quarter. But at the end it was Berrien Springs who made a run in the fourth quarter and got the victory. Chad Dingman led all scorers with 17 points and Brian Barnes added 11 points.  

1-26 - Comstock 65 - Cassopolis 62

Comstock varsity boys basketball team got a big win Tuesday night snapping a three game losing streak and defeating an 8-2 Cassopolis team 65-62. The colts came out attacking from the beginning and kept the pressure on defense the entire night. With four players scoring in double figures Brian Barnes led the way with 23 points, Chad Dingman added 15 points, Gavin Clopton had 13 points, and Travon Blakely added 11 points.

1-22 - Brandywine 39 - Brandywine 50

The varsity boys basketball team traveled Friday night to Niles Brandywine who was 7-1 on the season. Comstock got off to a little bit of a slow start trailing 23-17 at halftime. The colts came out in the second half and didn't give up playing tough defense, they just couldn't get it going on the offensive end and eventually losing 50-39. Brian Barnes led the colts with 17 points and Chad Dingman added 8 points.


1-19 - Comstock 35 - Schoolcraft 45

The Comstock varsity boys hit the road to take on Schoolcraft Tuesday and got off to another good start taking a 26-25 lead at half.  Then the colts went cold and had trouble scoring in the last two quarters and were defeated 45-35. Brian Barnes led the team in scoring with 10 points while Shane Easter and Tyler Mays each added 6 points.

1-15 - Comstock 80 - Bridgman 101

The Varsity boys basketball team traveled to Bridgman Friday night and found them self's in a shootout. With the score tied 35-35 at half Bridgman caught fire in the third quarter scoring 36 points and opening the game up. The colts kept fighting trying to get back into the game but fell against a hot shooting team losing 101-80. Comstock was led in scoring by Brian Barnes with 24 points and Chad Dingman with 20 points.

1-8 - Comstock 61 - Parchment 42

Comstock varsity boys basketball hosted Parchment Friday trying to improve to 2-1 in the conference. The Colts put pressure on Parchment from the beginning causing turnovers and easy baskets taking a 37-19 lead into the half.  Keeping the pressure on, Comstock cruised to 61-42 victory and improve there record to 3-3 overall. Travon Blakely led the scoring with 15 points while Brian Barnes and Tyler Mays each added 11 points.

1-5 - Comstock 61 - Kalamazoo Christian 43

Comstock boys basketball team traveled to Kalamazoo Christian Tuesday to face an undefeated Comets team. The colts started the game very well, playing excellent team defense and executing on the offensive end. But down 30-24 at half time Comstock went cold and could not get back into the game, losing 61-43. The colts had a balanced scoring attack led by Brian Barnes with 9 points, while Tyler Mays and Travon Blakely each added 7 points. 

12-18 - Comstock Buchanan

12-15 - Comstock 59 - Galesburg-Augusta 35

Comstock varsity boys basketball team traveled to Galesburg-Augusta Tuesday and came away with their second victory in a row. The colts didn't get off to a fast start but were sparked by 20 points from Chad Dingman and opened the game up in the second half to win 59-35. Brian Barnes had 12 points and 7 rebounds while Shane Easter added 8 points and 8 rebounds.

12-11 - Comstock 38 - Berrien Springs 37

The varsity boys basketball team defeated Berrien Springs Friday night 38-37 for their first victory of the season.  It was an all around great effort by Comstock. The team played great defense throughout the entire game, which included the last possession of the game, stopping the Shamrocks to hold on for the victory. Chad Dingman led the Colts on offense with 16 points while Brian Barnes had 14 points.  Comstock travels to Galesburg-Augusta on Tuesday to try and make it two victory's in a row.

12-8 - Comstock 53 - Vicksburg 90

Comstock varsity boys started the season off last night on the road against Vicksburg. The colts jumped out to a 6-0 start but Vicksburg caught fire and didn't look back winning by a score of 90-53.  Chad Dingman led the scoring for Comstock with 19 points making five 3 pointers, while Tyreese Gardner added 10 points. Looking to bounce back the Colts take on Berrien Springs at home friday.
