2-29 - Comstock 30 - Lakeview 27 - Scrimmage
The Comstock B Teamers won their exhibition game against an undefeated Lakeview
team, 30-27. The girls jumped out of the gate on absolute fire and never
relinquished the lead despite battling some fatigue. Madisynn Overholtz-Doty led
the Colts with a career-high 12 points while Angel Currie and Amber Payne each
added 6. The B Teamers made so much growth throughout the year and should all be
very proud of their efforts this season! Go Comstock!!!
2-10 - Comstock 36 - Kalamazoo Christian 19
The Comstock B Team lost a hard-fought game to Kalamazoo Christian, 36-19.
Despite cold shooting, the Colts improved each quarter of the game. Angel
Currie's emergence as a point guard continued as she ran the offense well
against a very tough half-court press. Kelsey Militzer played a great all-around
game while Amber Payne was, yet again, an absolute beast on defense. The girls
showed a lot of heart and growth against an opponent that totally dismantled
them earlier in the season, 30-9. Keep working hard ladies!
2-3 - Comstock 22 - Parchment 11
The 8th Grade Girls B Team played another solid game in their 22-11 victory over
Parchment. The girls played high-energy, suffocating defense throughout the
entire game. Kelsey Militzer led a balanced scoring attack with 8. Angel Currie,
Madisynn Overhotz-Doty, Lily DeYoung-Foster and Amber Payne also added points.
The girls are gaining confidence with each game and are, most importantly,
having a lot of fun. Go Colts!
2-1 - Comstock 32 - Delton-Kellogg 22
The 8th Grade Girls Basketball B Team played their best game of the season
against Delton, winning 32-22. The girls really moved the ball around well.
Angel Currie did an awesome job running the offense. Currie and Amber Payne both
scored in double-figures with 10 points apiece. Kelsey Militzer and Madisynn
Overholtz-Doty added 8 and 4, respectively. Carolina Ballesteros and Lily
DeYoung-Foster played really hard throughout the entirety of the game. Great
job, ladies!
1-27 - Comstock 8 - St. Monica 18
The Comstock 8th Grade Girls Basketball Team had a rough shooting night in an
18-8 loss against St. Monica. The girls were able to get good shots throughout
the game, but just couldn't finish. Amber Payne brought a lot of energy to the
team and was a force on defense. Makia Gregory did an excellent job rebounding
in the second half of the contest.
1-21 - Comstock 9 - Kalamazoo Christian 30
The Comstock 8th Grade B Team dropped their first game of the season against a
very tough Kalamazoo Christian team, 30-9. The girls played very hard despite
the lopsided loss. Amber Payne led the Colts in scoring with 5 points while
Angel Currie added 4. Kelsey Miltizer and Madisynn Overholts-Doty played solid
games defensively. The group looks forward to getting in the win column this
Wednesday against St. Monica.
