12-14 - Comstock 70 - St. Monica 41
The 7th Grade A Team finished their solid 9-3 season with a 70-41 victory
over St. Monica. JR Kellum led all scorers with 20 points. Josh Allen (18),
Israel Patterson (14) and Jumarciyae James (10) also scored in double figures.
The team ends their impressive year playing their best basketball. The boys must
continue to focus on improving each day through hard work and an unwavering
commitment to the welfare of the team. Great season, guys!
12-10 - Comstock Tourney
Comstock 52 - Hopkins 54
Comstock 69 - Parchment 59
The 7th Grade A Team went 1-1 this weekend to take 3rd place in their home
tournament. Comstock struggled in their first game, a 52-54 loss to Hopkins. The
Colts controlled play throughout the majority of the game, but just missed way
too many easy shots. JR Kellum played one of his better games of the season in
the defeat, scoring 24. Israel Patterson also had a great game down low, scoring
14. The Colts bounced back in a big way against Parchment, 69-59 (avenging a 6
point loss from earlier in the season). The victory was by far the Colt's best
effort of the season. Parchment roared out of the gate, hitting 5 of 5 3
pointers in the first quarter, but Comstock's steady defense and balanced
scoring attack proved to be too much in the end. Every player on the roster
scored in the win, led by Israel Patterson's breakout 21 point performance. JR
Kellum and Jumarciyae James also scored in double figures. Great job,
guys!
12-7 - Comstock 55 - Kalamazoo Christian 47
The 7th Grade A Team won a very exciting game against Kalamazoo Christian,
55-47. Comstock held a narrow lead going into halftime, but exploded in the 3rd
quarter, outscoring their opponents 21-8, thanks to their full court press.
Kalamazoo Christian crept back into the game in the 4th quarter due to a lack of
focus from the Colts, but the team somehow pulled it together in the end. JR
Kellum led all scorers with 15 points. Israel Patterson was a beast from start
to finish on both ends of the court as he added 14. Jumarciyae James also made
huge plays throughout thanks to his hustle and timely shooting. He finished with

12-5 - Comstock 51 - Martin 17
The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team dominated Martin in a 51-17 win on Monday.
After a shaky start, the team was able to put together some big runs, primarily
due to their defense. The Colts defense was so good that they held Martin
scoreless in the 3rd quarter. Every Comstock player on the roster scored in the
game, led by JR Kellum's 18 points. Israel Patterson was also a force on the
boards while Jumarciyae Jones made life miserable for Martin with his
suffocating defense, throughout. Go Comstock!
11-30 - Comstock 51 - Parchment 56
The 7th Grade A Team played uninspired basketball in a 51-56 loss to Parchment.
Although they showed moments of great effort and incredible play/team work,
the group will have to play much tougher both mentally and physically the rest
of the way. JR Kellum led all scorers with 19 points while Israel Patterson
added 14. The Colts will look to turn things around next Monday against Martin.

11-28 - Comstock 53 - Delton-Kellogg 55
The Comstock A Team dropped their first game of the season in a nail-biter
against Delton,53-55. The undersized Colts played with great energy and heart
throughout the game against a much bigger Delton squad. Each player on Comstock
made key contributions during big moments of the contest. JR Kellum led the team
with 16 points while DJ Howard and Israel Patterson added 13 and 10. The boys
will keep their heads held high as they continue to grow as a team and the
season progresses. Go Colts!
11-22 - Comstock 57 - St. Monica 38
The 7th Grade A Team continued their unbeaten streak in a 57-38 win against
Saint Monica. Playing short-handed, the Colts were able to overcome poor
shooting and a sluggish start. JR Kellum was the man, scoring a game high 25
points. DJ Howard also stepped up big, adding 18 points. The team really came
together in the second half as a group. Go Colts!
11-21 - Comstock 54 - Galesburg-Augusta 8
The 7th Grade Boys A Team improved their record to 4-0 by defeating Galesburg,
54-8. The Colts overwhelmed their opponent on both ends of the court throughout
the entirety game. Every player on the team scored in an amazingly balanced
scoring attack. JR Kellum was the only player in the game to reach double-digits
in points with 11. Good job, Comstock!
11-14 - Comstock 48 - Kalamazoo Christian 33
The 7th Grade A Team proved to be too much for Kalamazoo Christian in a
48-33 win. Despite poor shooting and constant foul trouble, Comstock was able to
put it all together when they really needed it. Josh Allen led all scorers in
the game with 20 points in a very balanced scoring attack. The team was very
aggressive taking the ball to the basket, but only made 5 of 20 free throw
attempts. They will look to improve this week in practice. Go Colts!
11-9 - Comstock 57 - Delton-Kellogg 50
The Comstock 7th Grade A Team defeated Delton, 57-50. Comstock persevered
through a tough first half and came alive in the 3rd quarter thanks to their
potent full-court press. Josh Allen continued his stellar play, scoring 33
points in the win. JR Kellum added 13 while Israel Patterson played his best
basketball to date on both ends of the court. The Colts improve their record to
2-0 on the season. Go Comstock!
11-7 - Comstock 44 - Galesburg-Augusta 18
The 7th Grade A Team dominated in a 44-18 victory over Galesburg. The Colts were
much improved defensively and began to run their offense more effectively. Josh
Allen led all scores with 17, while Bryce Carter and JR Kellum chipped in 9 and
7 in a very balanced scoring attack. Good job, Comstock!
11-3 - Comstock 65 - Otsego 63 OT
The 7th Grade Boys Basketball A Team won a thriller in overtime against Otsego,
65-63. The Colts played poor defense and got into foul trouble early as they
trailed 34-15 at the half. Comstock turned things around in the second half,
scoring a whopping 27 points in the fourth quarter...which included a
three-pointer at the buzzer by JR Kellum to force overtime. Josh Allen was
amazing down the stretch, scoring 34 points to lead all scorers. JR Kellum also
added 16. Awesome job, guys! Go Colts!
