The JV baseball team played their last games Wednesday night at Plainwell and went out in exciting fashion. The Colts won the first game 2-1 on a one-hitter by Tanner Clements. Connor Kent and Jacob Dankert scored for the Colts. Comstock played tight defense. Kyle Moore, Billy Leaders, and TJ Reilly made key plays while Connor Kent did a great job behind the plate.

In the second game, a nail-biter, Plainwell edged the Colts 1-0 by scoring on a sacrifice fly in the 4th inning. Kyle Moore only allowed 4 hits. Again, Comstock played a very good defensive game getting out of a couple tough innings. Billy Leaders, Dexter Stanley, and TJ Reilly again made several great plays. Noah Jackson was a rock behind the plate and threw out a runner attempting to steal.

Coach V would like to say "great season" to the JV team. You guys came a long way from when we started in March. He hopes to see everyone back out next year. Coach V and the JV baseball team would also like to say "good luck" to Kyle Moore and TJ Reilly as they join the varsity team for the remainder of the season.

The JV baseball team dropped two hard-fought games against Brandywine Tuesday night. The Colts lost the first game 6-3 after losing a 3-0 lead. Jaime Smith hit an RBI double, with Zac Taube and TJ Reilly also batting runs in. Kyle Moore pitched tough for the Colts. In the nightcap, the JV team lost 3-0. Tanner Clements pitched a good game, but the Colts came up short.

The JV baseball team split a doubleheader with Bridgman Wednesday night. The Colts lost a tough game 2-0. Tanner Clements pitched a close game. In the second game, the Colts earned a hard fought, come from behind win 7-5. They were down 4-1 in the 3rd inning, then scored 6 runs over the last 2 innings for the win. Jack Kendall pitched tough. The entire line-up was in on the win offensively for the Colts with everyone contributing in the last 2 innings. Zach Taube made a clutch, diving catch to save the win for the Colts.

The JV baseball team brought home two wins Monday night from their road trip to Climax. The Colts dominated the first game winning 11-0 behind a two hit, 7 strikeout shutout by Kyle Moore. Connor Kent and Tanner Clements each scored 3 runs for the Colts. The JV team also played their first error-less game of the season. The second game was a much closer affair. The Colts won 3-2 on a walkoff single by Kyle Moore. Jacob Dankert added a clutch suicide squeeze play bunt to tie the game in the 4th inning. Branden Willis got the win for the Colts with a hard fought outing.

The JV baseball team had a rough couple games Friday night against Gull Lake. The Colts lost the first game 10-1. They also lost the second game 10-1, however, played a tough 3 innings holding Gull Lake to only 4 runs. Jacob Dankert had two hits and scored a run for Comstock while Kyle Moore had a good game defensively.

The JV baseball team split a doubleheader with Parchment Tuesday night. The Colts lost the first game 9-5. In the nightcap, Comstock won a hard fought game 13-8. Branden Willis pitched a solid 3 innings, then Jack Kendall came in and shut the door on the Panthers. Noah Jackson broke the game open in the top of the 5th with a bases clearing triple. Billy Leaders and Tanner Clements played solid defense for the Colts.

Saturday, the Colts returned home for a morning doubleheader against Hastings. Comstock ran into a strong offensive performance by Hastings and lost the first game 11-1. However, the Colts came back strong in the second game, but lost 16-12. Jacob Dankert collected 2 hits and scored 2 runs, Connor Kent scored 4 runs, Dexter Stanley scored 2 runs, and Kyle Moore had a 3-RBI game.

 On Friday, the JV Colts . traveled to Galesburg and won both games of a doubleheader. Kyle Moore pitched a solid first game winning 13-6. Almost every player in the line-up collected hits and scored at least 1 run. Connor Kent went 3 for 4, Kyle Moore went 3 for 3 with a triple. In the second game, Branden Willis pitched a one-hit win 18-2. Tanner Clements went 3 for 3 and Connor Kent and Jack Kendall each scored 4 runs.

The JV baseball team dropped two games to Buchanan Tuesday night. The Colts lost the first game 7-1. A rough first inning gave the Bucks an early lead. The team lost a hard fought contest in the nightcap 7-4. Branden Willis, Jacob Dankert, and Kyle Moore made great plays in the field to keep the score close.

The JV baseball team lost a pair of games to Schoolcraft Friday night. The Colts lost the first game 9-0. After a rough first inning, the Colts held Schoolcraft to 2 runs the rest of the game. The score of the second game was 10-2. Jacob Dankert had a great game at the plate with two hits including a double.

The JV baseball team started their season Tuesday night at home with a doubleheader against Battle Creek Central. The Colts won both games 10-0. Tanner Clements pitched a one-hit shutout in the first game, while Connor Kent, TJ Reilly, and Jack Kendall combined for a two-hit shutout in the second game. Both games were a true team effort with several players collecting more than one hit in the games.
