10-20 - MHSAA District Semi - Comstock 1 - Hillsdale 3

The Colts ended their season with a great effort but on the short end of the stick on the scoreboard.  The Colts controlled 65% of the game but a mistake and a couple headers doomed them.  The overall effort was amazing with Alex Kish scoring the lone goal.  It was a phenomenal season and one of my memorable.  The boys played hard and were a lot of fun.

10-19 - Comstock JV 2 - Galesburg-Augusta JV 1

The young Colts played pretty well tonight.  RJ Baker got us on the board by recovering a goal kick and sticking it in the back of the net.  Galesburg-Augusta would respond later on the game with a goal to tie things going into half time.  In the 2nd half, things seemed to be pretty even until Fidel Ramos stole the ball and went on the attack taking a shot outside the 18 and scoring which proved to be the game winning goal.  Dominic Putti played extremely well for the Colts in the sweeper position and Jaylen Claxton and Jacob Ramirez both played well as outside marking backs.

10-16 - Comstock JV 1 - Hartford JV 0

The Colts played as hard as they could but didn't get many offensive opportunities as Hartford controlled the night.  The defense led by Dominic Putti, Jaylen Claxton, Jacob Ramirez and Prabjit Singh did a great job of stopping a lot of shots and Carter Wintz made some great saves.  Fidel Ramos scored the lone goal on the night on a breakaway that caught the keeper off guard outside the 18 and Fidel punched it into the top right corner.

10-15 - MHSAA District Quarter - Comstock 3 - Parchment 0

The Colts were ready to battle and came out victorious in the first round.  Jonathan and Fernando Torres and Kyle Mortimer controlled the middle while Geo Carrillo-Torres and Alex Patov roamed the outside and Alex Kish up front.  Kish got us on the board first and later added our 3rd goal of the night on a PK.  Alex Patov broke free for a nice shot on the 2nd goal of the night.  Jon and Fernando Torres each had an assist.  Carter Wintz and the defense did another great job earning another shutout.

10-12 - Comstock 4 - Battle Creek Academy 2

The Colts finished their 2020 regular season with a win which puts them at 10-4-2 as they head into districts.  Alex Patov scored in his 3rd straight game and also had 2 assists.  Alex Kish scored a goal to give him 30 for his career and also had an assist.  Geo Carrillo-Torres knocked in another nice shot for a goal and Jonathan Torres notched his first goal of the season.  Fernando Torres had an assist as well.

10-8 - Comstock 2 - Coloma 1

The boys built a 2-0 lead and held it for most of the game until we squandered a goal with about 3 minutes to go in the game.  Alex Patov turned in another great performance scoring another winning goal for the Colts.  Geo Carrillo-Torres had the other goal and Jonathan Torres had an assist.

10-7 - Comstock 1 - Bridgman 0

Carter Wintz and his defense of Dalton Wilkins, Matt Searles, Tyler Caswell and Sam Rabick earned another shut out on the season.  Alex Patov scored the winning goal again for us on a beautiful recover and shot in the top right corner.  The win puts us at 4-1-1 in the conference which ended up being for 3rd place this year behind South Haven and Niles who were 5-0-1 and 4-0-2.

10-5 - Comstock 4 - Berrien Springs 2

It took the boys a bit of time to get going vs Berrien Springs.  We were down 2-0 before we scored a goal in the 1st half.  We then dominated the 2nd half.  Alex Kish had another hat trick  with Haydn Haskins getting the other goal.  Fernando Torres had 2 assists and Alex Patov and Jonathan Torres had 1 each.

10-1 - Comstock 3 - Constantine 0

The Colts came out flat and fatigued after a hard fought match the night before and still were able to come away with the win.  Alex Kish scored all 3 goals and Jonathan Torres had 2 assists.    Carter Wintz and the defense picked up another shutout.

9-30 - Comstock 0 - South Haven 3

Comstock played a very good South Haven team as a showdown for the conference championship and came out on the losing end but battled well.  We were down 1-0 at half time on an own goal off a corner kick mistake.  In the 2nd half, South Haven scored twice in the first 5 minutes off a long shot and a PK.  Just a few mistakes was the difference in making this a tighter game.   The defense played well tonight and was one of our better efforts on the season.

9-28 - Comstock 1 - Delton-Kellogg 1

The Colts controlled most of the game but couldn't finish off chances.  Delton-Kellogg packed it in on defense and made it very difficult for the Colts to get quality chances and with 3 minutes to go in the game, scored on a corner kick to end the game in a tie.  This was a frustrating end to a rather nice game by the Colts.  Geo Carrillo-Torres scored one of the nicest full volley goals in a long time on an assist from Alex Kish.

9-25 - Comstock 2 - Parchment 1

The Colts controlled most of the game and held a 2-0 lead until a goal was scored by Parchment with out 15 min. to go in the game.  The Panthers had a couple more tries but the Colts defense bended a little but didn't break.

9-25 - Comstock 1 - Vicksburg 0

The Colts righted a loss the week before by beating Vicksburg 1-0 on a 35 yard shot by Kyle Mortimer in the 2nd half.  Geo Carrillo-Torres had the assist on the goal.  The Colts played hard and well to earn the win.

9-23 - Comstock 5 - Buchanan 0

The Colts had a better offensive night and Carter Wintz earned another shutout.  Alex Kish scored 2 more goals again and Fernando Torres, Geo Carrillo-Torres and Haydn Haskins each scored 1 for the Colts.  Fernando Torres, Alex Patov and Kyle Mortimer registered assists.  Our defense of Dalton Wilkins, Matt Searles, Sam Rabick and Tyler Caswell are coming together and are playing well together.

9-21 - Comstock JV 3 - Galesburg-Augusta JV 2

In back to back thriller games, the Colts made another goal towards the end of regulation.  The Colts had goals by Ryan McGrail and Geo Carrillo-Torres and an assist from Jeff Koss to keep the game tied 2-2 but it was a goal in the last minute of play by Tyler Caswell from about 30 yards out that skipped right under the cross bar that gave the Colts the win.

9-18 - Comstock 2 - Vicksburg 3 (Shootout)

Comstock played a tough Vicksburg squad that controlled play in the first half.  After changing up our formation a bit in the 2nd half, we started getting more opportunities.  We were down 2-1 with our 1 goal by Alex Kish on an assist from Alex Patov.  With about 30 seconds to go in the game, Geo Carrillo-Torres took a nice cross from Jonathan Torres and put it in the back of the net to force a shootout.  Unfortunately, we lost the shootout and took the loss.

9-18 - Comstock 1 - Schoolcraft 0

Comstock played a tough Schoolcraft team that controlled a lot of the game with their passing but never got any real good shots on goal.  Fernando Torres scored our lone goal on a PK to give us the win.  Congratulations to the defense and Carter Wintz on his first shutout.

9-16 - Comstock 2 - Niles 2

We seem to like to play from behind right now.  We started down 1 before Alex Patov evened the game at 1 on an assist from Jonathan Torres.  We then went down a goal again but then evened it up on a goal by Fernanado Torres.  While I hate ties, I was happy to see the boys fight back and end the game in a tie against a school twice our size.

9-14 - Comstock 1 - Bangor 3

Comstock started off a bit slow and finished the 1st half down 2-0.  They fought back getting a big lift from Kyle Mortimer in the midfield and Alex Patov scoring an unassisted goal.  We continued to press and were getting great opportunities but a 30 yard direct kick by Bangor scooted under the cross bar and that was the game.

9-9 - Comstock 9 - Brandywine 4

The Comstock boys had a great offensive night and everyone got to play in this event.  A lot of guys got involved in scoring for the Colts.  Alex Kish led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist and Fernando Torres also had 2 goals.  Haydn Haskins, Alex Patov, Kyle Mortimer, Fidel Ramos and Geo Carrillo-Torres each had a goal and Jonathan Torres had 2 assists with Alex Patov and Kyle Mortimer also getting an assist.

9-8 - Comstock 1 - Hartford 5

The Comstock boys finally got a chance to get on the soccer field after only being allowed to practice the first 3-4 weeks of the season.  The boys started down 1-0 but quickly tied up the game at 1 on a PK by Fernando Torres.  After that PK, while play seemed to be pretty even, it was all Hartford on goals scored.
