The Comstock 6th Grade Girls basketball team played three games on Saturday, 2/28 in the Tecumseh Basketball Tournament.  In the first game, the Colts weren’t able to get on the scoreboard often enough to keep the game close.  High scorers in the game were Macy Cannon with 7 points and Brionna Tiffany with 4 points.  The Comstock 6th Grade Girls continued to struggle in the 2nd game of the Tecumseh tournament and lost by 7 points.  High scorers in the game were Karissa Gilley with 6 points, Macy Cannon with 4 points, Brionna Tiffany with 4 points, and Allie Rawlinson with 2 points.  The 6th Grade Girls put a solid offensive and defensive effort together in the final game of the Tecumseh tournament and beat Addison by 10 points.  Scoring was spread across the team with Megan James, Macy Cannon, Brionna Tiffany, Allie Rawlinson, Karissa Gilley, and Maya Deyoung-Foster all getting on the scoreboard.  

2-15 - Comstock Tournament Champion
Comstock 27 - Sturgis 3
Comstock easily won the 3rd game of the tournament by beating Sturgis 27-3.  Comstock was able to use the fast-break and help defense to score and hold Sturgis to just 3 points.  Top scorers in the game were Macy Cannon with 9 points, Brionna Tiffany with 8 points, Maya Deyoung-Foster with 4 points, Karissa Gilley with 2 points, Natalie Deyoung-Foster with 2 points, and Megan James with 2 points.  Scrappy defense by Megan James and Masyn Scott helped Comstock shut down the Sturgis guards.
Comstock 20 - Coldwater 19
In the toughest game of the day, Comstock held off Coldwater when Karissa Gilley made a late shot to go ahead by 2 points in the final seconds.  Allie Rawlinson made a big block and rebound at the end to keep Coldwater from making a final shot.  This was a great win, as Comstock was playing their 4th game of the day.  High scorers were Karissa Gilley with 10 points, Brionna Tiffany with 4 points, Maya Deyoung-Foster with 4 points, and Macy Cannon with 2 points.
Comstock 24 - Athens 2
In the final game of the day, Comstock beat Athens and won their 2nd championship of the tournament!  Great defense by the whole team only allowed Athens to score 2 points the whole game.  High scorers were Brionna Tiffany with 10 points, Macy Cannon with 4 points, Karissa Gilley with 4 points, Ella McAllister with 2 points, Maya Deyoung-Foster with 2 points, and Megan James with 2 points.

Comstock 20 - Schoolcraft 12
In the first game of the tournament, Comstock started off fast and took a 8-0 lead right away.  Tough defense the whole game only allowed Schoolcraft to score 12 points and helped Comstock win the game.  High scorers in the game were Macy Cannon with 13 points, Allie Rawlinson with 5 points, and Karissa Gilley with 2 points.  Excellent rebounding by Maya Deyoung-Foster
Comstock 25 - Olivet 13
In the 2nd game, Comstock started fast and used a very strong full-court press to maintain their lead thru the game.  Comstock won the game easily against Olivet and won the 1st Championship of the day.  High scorers in the game were Brionna Tiffany with 10 points, Macy Cannon with 7 points, Karissa Gilley with 4 points and Maya Deyoung-Foster with 4 points.  Great job of rebounding by Natalie Deyoung-Foster and Shelby Alexander.

Comstock 18 - Columbia Central 12
In the 1st game, Comstock had to come from behind in the final 5 minutes of the game to get the first win of the tournament beating Columbia Central by the score of 18-12 .  High scorers in the game were Macy Cannon with 8 points, Karissa Gilley with 8 points, and Allie Rawlinson with 2 points.  Strong defensive effort by Brionna Tiffany and Megan James.
Comstock 27 - Ortonville Brandon 5
In the 2nd game, Comstock took the lead early in the game and extended the lead all the way to the end.  High scorers in the game were Macy Cannon with 10 points, Brionna Tiffany with 7 points, Maya Deyoung-Foster with 4 points, Karissa Gilley with 4 points, and Allie Rawlinson with 2 points.  Masyn Scott, Shelby Alexander and Natalie Deyoung-Foster did a great job playing defense during the 2nd half of the game.
Comstock 17 - Hudson 22
In the Championship game, Comstock played hard and made a comeback in the final minutes of the game to get within 3 points.  Macy Cannon led in scoring with 8 points, with Karissa Gilley adding 6 points and Maya Deyoung-Foster adding 3 points.  Excellent effort by the whole team and fighting to come back all the way to the end.  Comstock earned Runner Up Medals in the tournament for their accomplishments in the first tournament of the season!

12-6 - Comstock 33 - BC St. Joseph 14

The Comstock 6th Grade Girls Basketball team won their final game of the season on Saturday by beating Battle Creek St. Joseph by the score of 33-14.  The girls finished their league season with a record of 6-2!  High Scorers in the game were Macy Cannon with 13 points, Karissa Gilley with 8 points, Allie Rawlinson with 6 points, Maya Deyoung-Foster with 4 points, and Megan James with 2 point.  Great season for the team with excellent teamwork all season long!

11-22 - Comstock 38 - Galesburg-Augusta 12

The Comstock 6th Grade Girls basketball team played Galesburg-Maroon last Saturday and won easily by the score of 38-12.  The Colts took the lead from the start of the game and extended the lead all the way to the end.  Karissa Gilley had 12 points, Macy Cannon had 6 points, Maya Deyoung Foster had 6 points, Brionna Tiffany had 6 points, Masyn Scott had 4 points, and Allie Rawlinson had 4 points.  Excellent defense by the whole team.

11-15 - Comstock 15 - Calhoun Christian 16

The Comstock 6th Grade Girls basketball team played Calhoun Christian on Saturday, 11/15 and lost a very close game by the score of 15-16.  Calhoun Christian made a last minute shot to take the lead and the Colts couldn’t get a shot to fall in the final moments.  The high scorer in the game was Karissa Gilley with 7 points.  Maya Deyoung Foster, Brionna Tiffany, Allie Rawlinson and Macy Cannon all scored 2 points each.  

11-8 - Comstock 40 - Delton-Kellogg 14

Comstock then played Delton and won the game easily by the score of 40-14.  Once Comstock got on the scoreboard, they never looked back.  Brionna Tiffany and Karissa Gilley led in scoring with 12 points each. Macy Cannon had 10 points, with Megan James, Maya Deyoung Foster, and Masyn Scott scoring 2 points each.  Good defense and rebounding by the whole team against a much taller Delton team.  

11-8 - Comstock 28 - Schoolcraft 27

The Comstock 6th Grade Girls Stampede Basketball team played two games on Saturday.  They won the first game against Schoolcraft by the score of 28-27.   Comstock had to come back  9 points in the 4th quarter playing tough defense and holding Schoolcraft scoreless in the last quarter.  High scorers in the game were Macy Cannon with 12 points, Brionna Tiffany with 4 points, Maya DeYoung Foster with 4 points, Allie Rawlinson with 4 points, and Megan James and Karissa Gilley scoring 2 points each. 

11-1 - Comstock 27 - Galesburg-Augusta 6

The Comstock 6th Grade Girls played Galesburg on Saturday and won 27-6.  Comstock took the lead early in the game and never let Galesburg get close.  6 players were able to get on the scoreboard with Macy Cannon scoring 13 points, Brionna Tiffany with 4 points, Maya DeYoung-Foster with 4 points, Allie Rawlinson with 2 points, Karissa Gilley with 2 points, and Shelby Alexander with 2 points.  Great defense by the whole team, but exceptional effort by Masyn Scott, Megan James, and Natalie DeYoung-Foster.

10-24 - Comstock 26 - St. Joe 42

The 6th Grade Girls basketball team played their 2nd game of the season and lost to St Joe on Friday night. The team kept the game close thru the third quarter but ran out of gas in the last quarter. High scorers for the game were Macy Cannon with 14 points, Brionna Tiffany with 6 points, and Karissa Gilley with 6 points. A very good rebounding game by Allie Rawlinson, and good defense by Masyn Scott and Megan James.

10-11 - Comstock 40 - Otsego 29


The 6th Grade Girls Stampede Basketball team beat Otsego 40-29 on Saturday in the first game of the season.  Comstock led the whole game and never let Otsego threaten the lead.  High scorers for the game were Karissa Gilley with 13 points, Macy Cannon with 12 points, Brionna Tiffany with 6 points, and Allie Rawlinson with 6 points.  Masyn Scott scored a basket as well, and Maya DeYoung-Foster got on the scoreboard with a free-throw.
