The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their tenth game of the season last Friday
night. Their opponent was Three Rivers. The final score was Three
Rivers 5 - Comstock 1. Evan Veenhuis scored a goal, with an assist from
Spencer Blankenship. The entire team battled hard.
10-15 - Comstock 1 - Mattawan White 4
The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their ninth game of the season last night.
Their opponent was Mattawan. The final score was Mattawan 4 -
Comstock 1. Nikolai Vargas scored the goal, and Evan Veenhuis had the
assist. Joe Allen made some key defensive plays, David Thomas had a
very good game at midfield, and Josh Allen and Kyle Mortimer made some
nice runs at forward and midfield.
10-13 - Comstock 2 - Kalamazoo Christian 0
The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their eighth game of the season last
night. Their opponent was the Kalamazoo Comets. The final score was
Comstock 2 - Kalamazoo Comets 0. Nikolai Vargas scored both goals.
Fernando Plascencia and Evan Veenhuis each had an assist. Goalkeeper
Dante Rizzolo made a number of great saves to get the shutout. Well done
by the entire team. Their next game is Wednesday at Mattawan.

The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their seventh game of the season last
Friday night. Their opponent was the Kalamazoo Cougars. The final
score was Comstock 9 - Kalamazoo Cougars 0. Marcus Cannon, Spencer
Blankenship, and Nikolai Vargas each had two goals, and Fernando
Plascencia, David Thomas, and Evan Veenhuis each had a goal. Marcus
Cannon had two assists, and David Thomas, Rodrigo Juarez, Fernando
Plascencia, Evan Veenhuis, and Nikolai Vargas each had an assist. Dante
Rizzolo, Evan Veenhuis, Nikolai Vargas, and Logan Hicks shared the
goalkeeping duties for the shutout. Great job by the entire team.

NEMS Boys Soccer team played their fifth game of the season last night.
Their opponent was Fennville. The final score was Comstock 1 -
Fennville 1. David Thomas scored the goal for Comstock with an assist
from Evan Veenhuis. Goalkeeper Dante Rizzolo made the save of the game
by stopping a Fennville penalty kick. The entire team battled hard in a
close game.
9-24 - Comstock 6 - Delton-Kellogg 0
The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their fourth game of the season last night
versus Delton. The final score was Comstock 6 - Delton 0. Evan
Veenhuis scored two goals, and David Thomas, Nikolai Vargas, Spencer
Blankenship, and Branden Willis each scored a goal. Juan Hernandez,
Nikolai Vargas, and Joe Allen each had an assist. Dante Rizzolo and
Logan Hicks shared the goalkeeping duties to get the shutout. Well done
by the entire team.
9-22 - Comstock 3 - Plainwell 2
The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their third game of the season last night
versus Plainwell. The final score was Comstock 3 - Plainwell 2.
Nikolai Vargas, Evan Veenhuis, and Fernando Plascencia each scored a
goal. Spencer Blankenship, Fernando Plascencia, and Evan Veenhuis each
had an assist. Dante Rizzolo made some very good saves to give Comstock
the win. The entire team showed improvement in moving the ball and
passing.
9-18 - Comstock 0 - Allegan 5
The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their second game of the season last
night. Their opponent was Allegan. The final score was Allegan 5 -
Comstock 0. The Colts dominated the first half, and had several good
shots on goal throughout the game, but just couldn't seem to find the
back of the net. The team continues to improve with each game.
Standouts in last night's game included Joe Allen, Josh Allen, Juan
Hernandez, Rodrigo Juarez, and Fernando Plascencia. The Colts' next
game is Monday night at Plainwell.
9-15 - Comstock 5 - Marcellus 3
The
NEMS Boys Soccer team played their first game of the season last night.
Their opponent was Marcellus. The final score was NEMS 5 - Marcellus
3. Nikolai Vargas and Spencer Blankenship each scored two goals, with
Rodrigo Juarez contributing the fifth goal. David Thomas and Evan
Veenhuis each had two assists. Marcus Cannon and Brandon Willis
anchored the defense, and Logan Hicks and Dante Rizzolo shared the
goalkeeping duties. Great job by the entire team.
