In the last tournament of the season, the Comstock Stampede 5th Grade Girls basketball team had another excellent showing and finished as Runner-ups in the tournament, going 3-1 overall.
 
Comstock played 3 other schools and also one other Comstock team.  In the 1st Game, the 5th Graders beat the other Comstock team by the score of 23-2.  They then won the 2nd game against Galesburg 40-14.  In the 3rd game, Comstock beat Bellevue 21-13. In the championship game, Comstock lost to Lake Fenton 19-37. 
 
High scorers in the tournament for all 4 games were Karissa Gilley with 34 total points, Macy Cannon with 31 total points, Brionna Tiffany with 19 total points, Allie Rawlinson with 8 total points, Maya Deyoung Foster with 7 total points, and Masyn Scott with 4 total points.  Great defensive and rebounding effort by the whole team.
 
For this Stampede season, the 5th Grade Girls won 2 Tournament Championships, had 2 Runner-up Finishes, and went 14-5 overall. A great season for a hard-working team!

The Comstock 5th Grade Stampede Girls team had another good tournament this past weekend and came in 2nd place overall.  The 5th Grade girls went 2-1 in the tournament and continue to improve each week.
 
In the first game, Comstock lost to Lakeland by the score of 9-26.  Leading scorers were Karissa Gilley with 5, Macy Cannon with 2, and Maya Deyoung Foster with 1 point.  The team struggled to going in the first half, but tightened down the defense in the 2nd half and only allowed 10 points for Lakeland.
 
In the 2nd game, Comstock beat Schoolcraft 17-7.  Leading scorers were Karissa Gilley with 6, Macy Cannon with 5, Brionna Tiffany with 4 and Allie Rawlinson with 2 points.  Great defensive effort by the whole team to allow only 7 points by the other team.
 
In the final game, Comstock beat Watervliet 22-10.  Scoring was evenly spread across the team with Allie Rawlinson, Karissa Gilley, Brionna Tiffany, Maya Deyoung Foster and Shelby Alexander all scoring 4 points each.  Macy Cannon added 2 points in the win.  Great defense effort by Masyn Scott and Megan James.

The Comstock 5th Grade Girls Stampede basketball team won their 2nd consecutive tournament this past weekend.  After winning the home tournament at Comstock last weekend with a record of 4-0, they pulled off the same accomplishment by going 4-0 in the away tournament at Homer, Michigan.

 

In the 1st game, Comstock had to hold on to a narrow lead and beat Olivet 12-11 with a great defensive stop in the last few minutes.   Karissa Gilley and Maya Deyoung Foster led the team with 4 points each.  Macy Cannon and Brionna Tiffany each added 2 points apiece.  Good defense by the whole team.

 

In the 2nd game, the Colts played Harper Creek and had to come from behind in the final 3 minutes to win the game 17-14.  A strong full-court press created the turnovers that Comstock needed to take the lead and win the game.  Macy Cannon led the team with 11 points and Brionna Tiffany added 6 points. Karissa Gilley, Shelby Alexander, and Allie Rawlinson picked up some big rebounds in the game.

 

In the 3rd game, Comstock decided to put the game away by playing their best defense of the year.  Comstock held Homer to scoring only  3 points and won the game 17-3.  Great help defense by Megan James and Masyn Scott to stop the opposing team from driving.  Macy Cannon led the team with 13 points, with Brionna Tiffany and  Maya Deyoung Foster both adding 2 points each.

 

In the 4th and final game, Comstock played the other undefeated team in the tournament.  Both teams were 3-0 coming into the game.  The Colts turned in the same strong defensive effort as the last game and held Columbia to only 4 points.  Comstock won the game 17-4 with Macy Cannon scoring 11 points, Brionna Tiffany adding 4 points, and Karissa Gilley scoring 2 points.  Great defensive effort by Jakyah White, Masyn Scott, Allie Rawlinson, and Shelby Alexander.

The Stampede 5th Grade Girls won the Comstock Tournament Championship on Saturday by going 4-0 against their opponents.   Great Job in winning the Tournament for the Colts!

The 5th Grade Girls first beat Athens by the score of 20-2 in the first game.  Macy Cannon led scoring with 12 points with Allie Rawlinson, Maya Deyoung Foster, Karissa Gilley, and Masyn Scott all scoring 2 points each. Great defense by Brionna Tiffany and Megan James. 

In the 2nd game, Comstock beat Climax by the score of 24-11.  Karissa Gilley led scoring with 10 points.  Brionna Tiffany and Megan James added 4 points each.  Macy Cannon and Maya Deyoung Foster each had 2 points.  Shelby Alexander and Jakyah White picked up some important rebounds in the win.

In the 3rd game, the Colts beat the only other undefeated team in the tournament by beating West Ottawa 28-10.  Macy Cannon led scoring with 11 points, Karissa Gilley with 5,  Brionna Tiffany with 4, and Megan James and Masyn Scott added 2 points each.  The Colts put on a full-court press for most of the game to build and keep the lead the whole game.  Great defensive effort by the whole team.

In the last game of the day, the 5th Grade Girls beat Gobles by the score of 21-8.  After a close first half, the Colts turned up the defense in the 2nd half and only allowed 2 points.  Macy Cannon had 11 points, Karissa Gilley added 8 points and Shelby Alexander added 2 points.  Excellent defensive effort by Brionna Tiffany and Masyn Scott.

The 5th Grade Girls played their final game this past Saturday against a very tall Lakeshore team. The Colts came back late in the game to tie the score at 20-20. They ended up losing a close game 23-20 in the final minute of the game. High scorers in the game were Macy Cannon, Brionna Tiffany, Maya Deyoung Foster, Karissa Gilley, and Allie Rawlinson. An exceptional defensive effort was given by Maya Deyoung Foster and Brionna Tiffany. Allie Rawlinson and Masyn Scott really stepped up with a great rebounding effort as well.

11-23 - Comstock 6 - Gull Lake 26

The 5th Grade Girls lost a hard fought game to Gull Lake by the score of 26-6. Macy Cannon and Maya Deyoung Foster were high scorers. Great defensive play by Brionna Tiffany and Megan James, with extra rebounding effort by Allie Rawlinsnon.

11-16 - Comstock 15 - Pennfield 18

The 5th Grade Girls basketball team lost a nail-biter in their game against Pennfield on Saturday by the score of 18-15. The game came down to the last minute with both teams in a full-court press. Multiple shots rolled off the rim that could have won the game for Comstock. Great effort by the whole team in a very close game. High scorers were Brionna Tiffany, Karissa Gilley, and Macy Cannon. Shelby Alexander and Megan James put in an extra strong defensive effort.

11-9 - Comstock 17 - Lakeview Purple 33

Comstock kept it close until the 4th quarter and lost 33-17.  High Scorers were Macy Cannon, Karissa Gilley, Brionna Tiffany, Jakyah White and Maya Deyoug Foster.  The hustle award goes to Megan James as she was in on every loose ball and created many turnovers. 

11-2 - Comstock 14 - Lakeview White 58

Comstock 5th Grade Girls played two tough teams from Lakeview the past 2 Saturdays.  In the first game, Comstock lost to Lakeview 58-14.  High scorers were Macy Cannon, Brionna Tiffany, Karissa Gilley, Megan James and Allie Rawlinson.  Great rebounding effort by Jakyah White and Shelby Alexander. 

10-26 - Comstock 28 - St. Joe 26

In the 2nd game, the 5th Grade Girls came back to win a close, exciting game against St Joe by the score of 28-26. High scorers were Macy Cannon with 13, Karissa Gilley with 8, Megan James with 3, and Brionna Tiffany and Allie Rawlinson both with 2 points each.

10-26 - Comstock 21 - Otsego 8

The Comstock Stampede 5th Grade Girls basketball team won two exciting games on Saturday. In the first game, Comstock beat Otsego 21-8 with the high scorers in the game being Karissa Gilley with 8 points, Macy Cannon with 5, Allie Rawlinson and Jasmine Jernstadt with 4 points each.

10-19 - Comstock 21 - Vicksburg 28

The 5th Grade Girls Stampede Basketball team lost a close game to Vicksburg on Saturday by the score of 28-21.  High scorers in the game were Karissa Gilley with 9 points, Macy Cannon with 6, Brionna Tiffany with 4 and Megan James with 2.
