2-28 - Comstock 42 - Marshall 52

The Colts came out on fire building a 10-3 lead early but couldn't sustain once they got into foul trouble.  The Colts were able to bring within 2 points in the 4 quarter but couldn't quite take the lead before having to foul and take chances.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 29 points and Ahkyla Blakely chipped in 10 points and 13 rebounds.  It was not the ending to our season we wanted but we still had a great season.  Go Colts!!!

2-20 - Comstock 46 - Otsego 45

The varsity girls basketball team finished their regular season at 19-1 by beating Otsego last night on a game winning 3 point shot by Daisy Ansel on a beautiful pass from Ahkyla Blakely.  The Colts jumped out to a 15-1 lead after the 1st quarter but then found themselves in foul trouble which got them out of sync a bit.  Otsego fought back to tie the game at 26 after 3 quarters.  The Colts would push the 4th quarter lead to 8 points before Otsego would fight back and tie the game at 42.  With 17 seconds to go in the game, Otsego would score the go ahead basket and give the Colts 1 more chance.  Ahkyla Blakely drove down the right side of the court and drew a crowd leaving Daisy open at the top where she drained a 3 to win the game.  Daisy Ansel finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds and Ahkyla Blakely added 12 points.  Daisy Ansel scored her 1,000th point of her career in this game and the Associated Press came out with the Colts being ranked #7 in Class B.  The Colts now go into district play vs Marshall on Wednesday next week at 5:30pm and we would love to have a huge crowd for that event.

2-15 - Comstock 59 - Bridgman 34


The varsity girls basketball team wrapped up league play last night by beating Bridgman 59-34 to finish undefeated in conference play at 10-0 and become 2018 BCS Conference Champions.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 28 points and 6 steals.  Ahkyla Blakely had a great all around game scoring 15 points and adding 7 Assists, 6 Rebounds and 6 Steals.  Abby House also scored 9 points and had 6 rebounds.  Madelyn Caswell continues to be aggressive on the boards and added 6 rebounds.

2-13 - Comstock 55 - Paw Paw 35


The varsity girls basketball team pushed their record to 17-1 by defeating Paw Paw 55-35 on senior night.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 26 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals and Ahkyla Blakely had 15 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.  Abby House chipped in 9 points and Madelyn Caswell grabbed 9 rebounds.  

2-12 - Comstock 47 - Parchment 18

The varsity girls basketball team started this week being ranked #10 in the Class B Detroit Free Press Ranking.  Congratulations to all of the girls for all of the hard work they've put into this season.  They followed up that ranking with a 47-18 win over Parchment last night.  Daisy Ansel had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Abby House also chipped in 14 points.  Ahkyla Blakely had 7 points with 8 assists and 7 rebounds.

2-6 - Comstock 35 - Harper Creek 32

The varsity girls basketball team had a big win last night against a very good Harper Creek team 35-32.  The girls played more of a strategic game and did a great job executing the game plan.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 14 points and Ahkyla Blakely chipped in 9.  Kaylee Gilley hit a huge 3 pointer with about 2 minutes left in the game that put the Colts up by 5 at the time.  Madelyn Caswell also did an amazing job on the boards racking up 8 total rebounds with 4 of them being on the offensive end.

2-2 - Comstock 36 - Buchanan 20

The varsity girls basketball team beat Buchanan last night 36-20.  The defense was stellar all the way around.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Ahkyla Blakely chipped in 12 points and had 7 rebounds and 6 steals.  The Colts move 1 step closer to securing an outright BCS Championship.

1-30 - Comstock 57 - Kalamazoo Christian 39

The Colts jumped out to a 22-9 1st quarter lead and never looked back.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 24 points and 11 rebounds and Ahkyla Blakely scored 21 points and had 7 rebounds and 4 steals.  Abby House, Madelyn Caswell and Kaylee Gilley all played crucial parts to the success of our team on defense!!!

1-26 - Comstock 52 - Berrien Springs 39

The varsity girls basketball team continued their winning ways by beating Berrien Springs 52-39 on Friday night.  Daisy Ansel led the way with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals and Ahkyla Blakely had 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.  Jaime Jeffries gave some solid minutes by getting a few steals and playing hard.  

1-19 - Comstock 52 - Brandywine 48


The varsity girls basketball team took their league record to 6-0 last night by defeating a very good Brandywine team 52-48.  Brandywine was very prepared and made it a very tight game throughout.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 21 points and 9 rebounds.  Daisy Ansel and Kaylee Gilley both chipped in 10 points each.  Turning points in the game were 3 made free throws in a row by Abby House on a fouled 3 point shot and 4 made free throws in a row by Daisy Ansel after a foul on a 2 point shot and a technical foul on the opposing coach.  The biggest help might have come from Kaylee Gilley though.  She went 4/5 on the night with two 3 pointers and 5 of her points came in the 4th quarter.  It also happened to be an amazing night for Ahkyla Blakey.  She was 21 points shy of hitting 1,000 for her career and with 8 seconds to go in the game she was put to the free throw line where she made the back end of her 2 shots to put us up by 4 points and seal the game for us.  Ahkyla is the 3rd Comstock lady in school history to score 1,000 points for her career.  Congratulations to Ahkyla and the rest of the team for pulling out the win and moving their record to 11-1.

1-16 - Comstock 59 - Plainwell 36

The varsity girls basketball team beat Plainwell 56-36.  The girls came out on fire and played the best 1st half of basketball of the year leading 39-19 at half time.  Daisy Ansel led all scorers with 24 points and had 8 rebounds.  Ahkyla Blakely had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals.  Abby House had 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks.

1-12 - Comstock 56 - Bridgman 28


The Colts jumped out to a 19-1 1st quarter lead on Bridgman.  Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts with 21 points and set a school record with 10 steals.  Daisy Ansel also chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds and 5 assists.  Madelyn Caswell came up big with 7 rebounds and 4 of them being offensive.  

1-9 - Comstock 49 - Hackett 36

The varsity girls basketball team finished off Hackett 49-36 after a hard fought 1st half leading only 19-17.  Ahkyla Blakely led the team with 22 points and 5 assists. Daisy Ansel chipped in 16 points and narrowly missed a triple double with 10 rebounds and 6 steals while being face guarded the entire night.  Kaylee Gilley helped get us going by hitting 2 three pointers and finishing with 8 points.  The girls will look to come out stronger and improve against Bridgman on Friday.

12-21 - Comstock 54 - Parchment 24


The Colts jumped out to an 18-4 lead in the 1st quarter and never looked back.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 27 points and set a school record for 3's % in a game by making 5 out of 6 for an 83% mark.  She also had 9 rebounds on the night.  Ahkyla Blakely chipped in 14 points and had 9 assists and Abby House also chipped in 8 points.

12-19 - Comstock 50 - Allegan 34

The varsity girls basketball team came away with another win last night beating Allegan 50-34 to push their record to 6-1 on the season.  Ahkyla Blakely had her best shooting night of the season scoring 26 overall and 18 in the 1st half.  Daisy Ansel also was able to chip in 16 for the Colts.  The continued to improve on the details of the game that will ultimately make the difference in tight games.  Abby House, Madelyn Caswell and Kaylee Gilley had great all around games as well.

12-15 - Comstock 49 - Buchanan 31

The Colts took charge of the BCS Conference game by jumping out to a 30-17 half time lead.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 19 points.  Ahkyla Blakely had 13 points and 8 assists and Abby House had 10 points and 5 steals.

12-12 - Comstock 44 - Gull Lake 56

The Colts suffered their 1st loss of the season last night.  The Colts were able to bring it to within 2 points in the 4th quarter but couldn't get over the hump.  Daisy Ansel led the Colts with 22 points and 7 rebounds.  Ahkyla Blakely added 13 points and had 6 steals and 6 assists.  Abby House also chipped in 9 points.

12-8 - Comstock 68 - Berrien Springs 36

The Colts came out on fire for the 2nd time this week putting up 68 on Berrien Springs.  Every Colt got in the scoring column on this night with Daisy Ansel leading us with 23 points and 8 rebounds.  Ahkyla Blakely had 14 points and 9 rebounds.  Kaitlynne Burns and Macy Cannon each chipped in 6 points and Madelyn Caswell had 5 points and 5 rebounds.

12-5 - Comstock 72 - Hopkins 53

The varsity girls basketball team are 3-0 to start the season with another win last night over Hopkins 72-53.  Daisy Ansel led all scorers with 26 points and had 7 rebounds.  Abby House and Ahkyla Blakely also had awesome nights each scoring 14 points.  Abby House was spectacular behind the line going 4-5 for 3 pointers which ties a school record for 3's % in a game.  She also had 11 rebounds.  Ahkyla Blakely got us going on the night scoring 10 points in the 1st quarter and also finished with 8 rebounds and 7 assists.  Kaylee Gilley and Madelyn Caswell also had great shooting nights scoring 8 and 6 points at a high %.  

12-1 - Comstock 58 - Brandywine 36

The varsity girls bball team took in to Brandywine beating them 58-36.  The Colts again had a slow 1st half go of things only leading by 3 points before going on a 34-15 run to finish the game.  Daisy Ansel led all scorers with 24 points and also had a season high 14 rebounds and 5 steals.  Ahkyla Blakely did a great job at the point guard position scoring 14 points and also had 6 steals.  Abby House is stepping up into her role wonderfully chipping in 10 points on the night.  It was a great team effort to put away Brandywine as our first step in our quest to repeat as Conference Champions.

11-28 - Comstock 58 - Vicksburg 39

The Varsity Colts took a half to get going and then they exploded to beat Vicksburg 58-39.  Daisy Ansel and Ahkyla Blakely led the Colts in scoring with 16 and 15 points each.  Daisy also had 13 rebounds and 7 assists to just miss out on a triple double.  Ahkyla had 4 assists and 4 steals.  Abby House got her junior year going with two 3 pointers on her way to 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals.  It was great to see Chloe La Brie back in action scoring 7 points and Macy Cannon did a great job in her varsity debut as a freshman.
