2013-14
Varsity Wrestling
Coloma Quad
1-29 - Comstock 27 - South Haven 40
1-29 - Comstock 0 - Allegan 57
Our last regular season dual of the year included the most aggressive Comstock wrestling team that we've seen all year. We're now looking to the post season to achieve our team and individual goals. Next Wednesday we're in Parchment fighting for the second district championship in Comstock Wrestling history so come out and support your home team.
Coloma Quad
1-22 - Comstock 33 - Otsego 34
1-22 - Comstock 24 - Dowagiac 43
Close losses are never fun but the strong leadership of our active captains, Jordon Richards and Dylan Wright, was there to lift and motivate the team. No performances on the mat rivaled the way that they picked their team up. Team districts is just two weeks away and we hope to have plenty of support in the Parchment bleachers on February 5th as we fight for only the second team district championship in Comstock Wrestling history.
Comstock Team Tourney
1-18 - Comstock 58 - Bloomingdale 15
1-18 - Comstock 27 - Constantine 48
1-18 - Comstock 45 - Cassopolis 28
1-18 - Comstock 23 - Marshall 48
1-18 - Comstock 21 - Reading 45
Despite both sporting considerable injuries, Jordon and Zach Richards fought their way through to a 5-0 day through their persistent and hard nosed wrestling styles.
Paw Paw Quad
1-15 - Comstock 48 - Paw Paw 25
1-15 - Comstock 13 - Edwardsburg 52
Congrats to Zach Richards for going 2-0 on the night. Saleh Hasan went 1-1 and had two of the closest and most exciting matches of the night, making it through on grit and cardio.
Parchment Super Duals
1-11 - Comstock 40 - Eau Claire - 9
1-11 - Comstock 31 - Central Montcalm - 47
1-11 - Comstock 44 - Parchment - 25
1-11 - Comstock 26 - Coldwater - 42
1-11 - Comstock 15 - Athens Climax-Scotts - 55
Although missing some key starters and forfeiting weight classes, both our normal starters and our backups wrestled great. Zach Richards, Tanner Phares, and Jordon Richards all went 4-1 and all had exceptional performances including Zach Richards over Zach Moobley (ACS) in a close and exciting decision, Tanner Phares in a losing effort to Cody Veltkamp (Central Montcalm), and Jordon Richards with a decisive win over Tyler Burlingham (Parchment).
12-18 - Comstock 16 - Three Rivers 56
12-18 - Comstock 21 - Vicksburg 52
Fighting sickness and injuries left us with less than a full lineup and the score reflects it. What the score didn't reflect though, was how close and hard fought the Three Rivers dual was. Zach Richards lost a close decision to (#8) Shawn Brew of Three Rivers in an exciting match. Jacob DeWolfe also scored what will probably be the most creative pin of the year against Vicksburg, pinning his opponents shoulders with his legs.
12-11 - Comstock 45 - Coloma 26
