2-26 - Comstock 32 - Delton-Kellogg 34
Your Comstock Freshman Girls Basketball Team closed out the season in exciting fashion with a valiant effort against Delton. It was neck and neck tied at half-time 16-16. That trend continued in the second half while the Colts continued their outstanding team defense against a strong & big Delton squad. It was a physical game that went right down to the wire with the Colts just falling short, loosing 34-32. Scoring for the Colts were Grace Gostlin, Kaitlynne Burns, Jaime Jeffries, Li Li Martin, & Joy Thomas. The Comstock Community should be very proud of the hard word and improvement the Freshman Team has demonstrated this season! A huge THANK YOU to Li Li Martin, Jasmine Nuyen, & Joy Thomas for filling in for a short handed freshman squad during mid-winter break!
2-23 - Comstock 43 - Paw Paw 22
Comstock is proud of the Freshman Girls Basketball team for executing great precision on offense to score a season high 43 points last night vs Paw Paw while holding Paw Paw to 22 points. Once again the team defense was outstanding with the Lady Colts frustrating, stealing and converting on several take aways. Kaitlynne Burns was aggressive in the post scoring 13 points. Grace Gostlin got to the freethrow line 11 times and scored 13 points. Gabby "smooth shooting Langejans" pumped in 12 points. Great Job Colts - Super TEAM Effort!
2-22 - Comstock 22 - Coldwater 28
Your Comstock Freshman Girls Basketball team played outstanding defense for 4
quarters forcing several turnovers and 5 second calls and frustrating the
Coldwater Freshman Team, however your Lady Colts fell short on the offensive end
losing 28-22. Grace Gostlin scored 9 points with 5 other players adding baskets
including: Gabby Langejans, Kaitlynne Burns, Patricia Sivley, Jaime Jeffries,
& Sara Schroder.
2-17 - Comstock 21 - Harper Creek 15
Your Freshman Girls Basketball Team got off to a hot start scoring 11 first quarter points last night leading them to the 5th win of the season against Harper Creek. Leading the Colts was Grace Gostlin scoring 8 points while Gabby Langejans & Jaime Jerffries each chipped in 5 points for the 21-15 Win!
2-16 - Comstock 26 - Hastings 37
Despite out scoring Hastings in a great 4th quarter rally the freshman girls basketball team lost to Hastings 37-26. Kaitlynne Burns led the Colts in scoring with 8 points while blocking shots on the defensive end. Gabby Langejans added 6 points with some smooth shooting. Grace Gostlin also gutted out 6 points.
2-12 - Comstock 23 - Olivet 42
The Comstock girls freshman Basketball team traveled to Olivet and encountered a solid shooting eagle team from the floor and free-throw line. The Colts lost 42-23. Jaime Jeffries, Kaitlynne Burns, Grace Gostlin, & Gabby Langejans all scored for the lady Colts.
2-9 - Comstock 18 - Portage Northern 20
Team defense was at its best this season with the Comstock freshman girls basketball team holding Portage Northern to 20 points last night! It was warm in the igloo with Comstock's stellar defense, however it was not enough to bring home a win as the Colts lost 20-18 @ Northern. It was down to the wire with Comstock forcing turnovers while Northern was unable to break Comstock's full court press. Your lady Colts were busy forcing 5 second calls & time outs by Northern. Scoring for the Colts were Grace Gostlin, Kaitlynne Burns, & Gabby Langejans.
2-4 - Comstock 32 - Plainwell 37
Your Comstock Girls Freshman Basketball team outscored & out hustled Plainwell in the 2nd half of last nights contest. The lady Colts showed great teamwork in executing everything on the offensive end, only to end up falling short in a 37-32 loss. Grace Gostlin showed a lot of grit on defense & getting to the freethrow line 8 times & leading scores with 9 points. Kaitlynne Burns was solid in the post adding 8 points. Jaime Jeffries played smart defense and chipped in 7 points. Great CC PRIDE was on display & great sportsmanship
1-25 - Comstock 24 - White Pigeon 30
In an exciting comeback the Freshman Girls Basketball Team fell short in a loss to White Pigeon last night 30-24. The Colts played stellar defense while creating steals and 5 second calls & then converting those into quick fast break points to score 14 points in the 4th quarter. The Colts were led on the offensive end with Grace Gostlins 14 points & Gabby Langejans smooth shooting adding 8 points. Kaitlynne Burns led the post play with some solid interior passing.
1-21 - Comstock 16 - Olivet 56
The Freshman girls basketball team lost to Olivet last night 56-16. Scoring for the Colts were Gabby Langejans, Grace Gostlin, Jaime Jeffries, and Sara Schroeder.
1-19 - Comstock 22 - Plainwell 31
The Freshman Girls Basketball Team fell short in a great 4th quarter comeback against Plainwell. The team lost 31-22. Kaitlynne Burns led the Colts in scoring with 8 points, followed by Jaime Jeffries chipping in 6 points. The Freshman drop to 3-4 as they look to even things up Thursday night against Olivet.
1-8 - Comstock 14 - Otsego 43
The Freshman Girls Basketball Team lost to a hot shooting Otsego squad Friday
night in a home contest. The Colts had 4 players score field goals. Emily
Hainer, Jaime Jeffries, Kaitlynne Burns, and Grace Gostlin all scored. The
Freshman Team drops to 3-3 on the season.
12-28 - Comstock Freshman Tournament
12-15 - Comstock 41 - Watervliet 29
Congratulations to the Freshman girls basketball team for handling a pesky
Watervliet defense last night. In a complete team win the Colts improve to 3-1
on the season. Gabby Langejans & Katie Smith handed out some nice assists in
the win. Grace Gostlin led the team in scoring with 17, Emily Hainer had 10
points & Kaitlynne Burns tossed in 9 points. The energy & sportsmanship
brought into the gym last night made all of Comstock Proud!
12-10 - Comstock 37 - Berrien Springs 17
Our Comstock girls freshman basketball team out hustled Berrien Springs to bring home their 2nd win if the season. The Colts scored 37 points while holding the Shamrocks to 17. Grace Gostlin got to the free throw line & scored 11 total points. Kaitlynne Burns & Jaime Jeffries each tossed in 8 points.
12-8 - Comstock 12 - Delton-Kellogg 37
The Comstock Freshman girls basketball team ran into a hot shooting Delton-Kellogg team that handed the Freshman their first loss of the season. In the 37-12 loss the colts spread the scoring around with 5 players scoring: Gabby Langejans, Grace Gostlin, Kaitlynne Burns, Gabby Sousa, & Jaime Jeffries all tossed in field goals.
11-29 - Comstock 22 - Vicksburg 15
Congratulations to the girls freshman basketball team in winning a defensive battle against Vicksburg in the first contest of the season. The Colts held on strong at the end to win 22-15 against the Bulldogs. Grace Gostlin led the colts with 8 points, while Gabby Langejans & Kaitlynne Burns each chipped in 4 points.
